  1. Nite mate. Pure snow here. On the lighter side of moderate at the mo'. Although the radar keeps wanting to stream the snow north from the channel. The centre of the low is pushing SW so its only a matter of time before this arc leaves London and heads SW. All eyes to the north of the region tomorrow morning.
  2. Its hard to say really. It depends how much snow there will be, and im not too sure. Possibly 3-5cm's? Its unlikely to be a complete dumping, but I could be wrong.
  3. Light snow has started again. Not sure how heavy this is gonna get. Might see another cm top-up if we're lucky, before it pushes away W/SW.
  4. Another band of snow is meant to push south from the North Sea and hit parts of East Anglia, Essex, London, Herts, along the M4 and then push down south into E/W Sussex and Kent in the evening. Kent should see snow tomorrow evening. Places further north during the afternoon.
  5. It looks as though it should reach the northern extent of london before pulling SW. I think we're in for a little bit more snow in the next hour. Probably not amounting to more than a cm or so.
  6. Not just that, but with such a strong E/NE'erly flow there's bound to be plenty of convection and heavy snow showers.
  7. Check this out! http://charts.netweather.tv/gfsimages/gfs.20100106/00/90/h850t850eu.png Thats a right ol E/NE blast! Sub -10 850's
  8. GFS 00z looking good for saturday....http://www.wzkarten3.de/pics/Rtavn842.png
  9. GFS 00z looking great for us on Saturday you guys...http://www.wzkarten3.de/pics/Rtavn842.png
  10. Looking at the GFS 00z, -10 850 air seems to be flooding in behind the snow band tomorrow from the NE. So hopefully there'll be little or no daytime thawing of snow! http://charts.netweather.tv/gfsimages/gfs.20100106/00/21/h850t850eu.png
  11. How much do you have down there? I think the 40cm's for some areas that was forecasted earlier may have been a bit OTT. But it does look like some areas will get up to 8 or 9 inches, which is still bloody good.
  12. Its definitely steaming in towards south London, but it seems to be fizzling out as it moves inland. Still should hopefully be enough on it to see a couple of cm's.
  13. Can someone answer this question: Is the ppn coming up into London & the home counties from sussex/kent marginal? Or will it be all snow (away from the coasts that is)?
  14. There's another wave of ppn heading up through E/W Sussex and into Kent, pushing north. Is that likely to move all the way up to London & the home counties? And will it be snow? Reports from down south are that its marginal.
  15. Yep, looking at the travel cams, quite a few places in central london has no lying snow. Its always a struggle to get it to settle in the centre of town. Too many people, too many cars, too many buildings. But just a couple of miles out of the centre and there's plenty of lying snow. An untouched coating of about 3cm's round here. In the Southern and South-western suburbs its probably a lot more.
  16. We have agreat covering of about 2-3cm's. Reports of slightly warmer air and rain/sleet now coming into the far south. How likely is it to become more marginal further north?
  17. Id advise everyone to put their location in the signature if you can. Mine is still showing.
  18. Well its snowing in ilford, about 10mins away on the train from stratford. So yes it must be. A good few cm's at the moment.
  19. Bigger and bigger flakes now. Very good covering, already a couple of cm's. So much more than I was expecting yesterday!
  20. Yep well done Kold. Made a brilliant call yesterday. Why dont you replace some of the script readers at the BBC?
  21. The snow seems to be getting lighter on the radar. Fizzling out? Will it get fuelled again by moisture off the estuary?
  22. Its turned into heavy, but very small flakes. Almost like pellets. Getting a decent covering now.
