  1. Mate you are right on the boundary of London, i wouldnt count yourself in East of England for this or any event. You are south-east. I went to school in Chigwell.
  2. Suburban London can get a lot of accumulations, but central London always struggles unless its well below freezing. Last night Heathrow was about -6c and central London was -1c. A 5 degree difference in just a few miles. Urban Oven Effect.
  3. London is in the orange zone. And Norfolk and Camb's are now green?
  4. Thats fantastic news for us. Now even west London coming into the danger zone. A slight movement east and all of London could get a dumping. Its also looking great for Surrey, Berkshire, Bedfordshire, possibly Hertfordshire....and then later on E & W Sussex and Kent, and maybe more northern parts of Essex later on Wednesday.
  5. They probably heard you right but deliberately misquoted you. Right old cold rampers the Express are So do you think the front will move far enough east by as early as Tuesday night? Stalling over Kent, Essex & East London would be perfect (IMBY)
  6. I hope this is a trend in the right direction. But from what i remember on the bbc forecasts, the snow moved in a south easterly direction, before almost stalling over the midlands, and then pivoting slightly and heading straight south. But i am really hoping that it moves east!
  7. Not only Newcastle, check out Manchester: http://www.gmpte.com/corporate/webcam.cfm
  8. Definitely going to be a busy day of radar, tv forecast and model watching tomorrow! A few shifts and we could be in line. Its amazing though, that we're the one area progged not to receive anything significant tomorrow, but our thread is the most busy and longest. Just shows how many people inhabit this overcrowded corner of the country.
  9. At the end of the day, the odds are stacked against us, but its quite clear the met are also quite unsure exactly how its going to play out. Every forecast this evening i've heard them say that there is still uncertainty about where exactly the snow will fall. 50 miles east, and a lot of us are involved. 50 miles isnt a lot in meteorological terms. Very often in the past the actual event turns out to be somewhat different to how its forecast. We arent looking for a massive shift, just 50-80 miles to the east would be fine for a lot of us.
  10. Good post. Glad to hear it. Just like this event has suddenly popped up for CS, SW & Midlands, so can an event for us. Hopefully........
  11. I was thinking the same thing. The front is closer to being over the south-east. Any of the other more knowledgeable on here want to analyse? Including you Ocean Transit.
  12. Answered my question. Looks promising? I was doubting his confidence for tomorrow night. After that nothing is written off.
  13. Your confidence is either admirable, or youre deliberately trying to wind people up. We know anything can happen, but we're within t24 of the event starting and our area is barely getting by with a dusting.
  14. So basically it looks like everywhere is going to get heavy snow over the next 24 hour except for EA & the SE?! Even later this week seems to look a bit uncertain.
  15. Well, well. Latest BBC N24 8:55 forecast showed the snow over south-central england and parts of the SW as it has done this evening, but he elaborated a bit more on wednesday and showed a massive area of heavy snow across East Anglia and the SE on Weds and said the weather front "will try to push east but will take a long time to clear, giving further heavy snow". So all of the south could be in for heavy snow by the end of Wednesday. As ever though, each forecast will continue to change, and who knows what they'll show this time tomorrow? Fascinating/frustrating/fantastic nonetheless.
  16. Hope so! Although hopes are fading. BTW i 100% agree with your comment about some of the northerners having an inferiority complex. Some of them are always complaining how heavy snow in the SE gets all the media attention. Get over it for god sake, you get loads of snow, we rarely get heavy snow, plus more people live in just London than the whole of Scotland!
  17. Youve got no chance for tomorrow night mate. Id look east for your snow off the north sea.
  18. The further West you are in the SE region, the better. So Berkshire has a fair chance of seeing something. Although the current forecasts suggest the heaviest snow will be west of you. But that could all change come tomorrow morning.
  19. 755 BBC forecast showed the similar south-central and SW areas, with a bit in the SE (but not much). Jay Wynne then showed a fairly heavy area of snow over EA and the SE on Wednesday. So all may not be lost in the next 48 hours.
  20. Northern/Central Scotland around Aviemore is getting hammered at the moment, check out the A95 cameras: http://www.trafficscotland.org/lev/index.aspx Give us some of that snow, god damn it!
  21. That covers a pretty large part of the Midlands and South if you ask me. Maybe not getting to eastern Kent and eastern parts of EA, but a fairly wide area looks to be at risk from that.
  22. Just looking at the latest forecast, there did seem to be a bit more snow into parts of the SE compared to an hour ago. At the end of the day, this time yesterday they werent forecasting anything significant, and now suddenly they are. Come this time tomorrow, when it is all due to start kicking off, it could change again and shift further east. Or maybe im just clutching at straws.
  23. How ironic would that be, considering yesterdays country tracks forecast? Im sure we'll see some snow.
