    The forecasts I’ve seen and heard reckon it won’t get here but the North Sea will still produce heavy persistent showers tomorrow and Saturday.

    Ross on Tyne Tees said south of region 10cms over night Amber warning area 25cms overnight

    Local bbc radio ramping up our snow prospects. Bbc National went through all weather warnings in the south and midlands but didn’t mention the ones up here and Scotland

    If the Meto believe their own forecast for here of 46 hours of heavy snow with min of 80% chance then and temps -5 to -9 then surely must merit red warning

    Meto has heavy snow kicking off here at 15:00 and going till Thursday diner time

    Going off bbc forecast on top of what fell overnight up to 10cms more today, tomorrow 10cms+ and Thursday 10cms+ so that makes a min of 40cms here

    According to Meto spokesman on radio Newcastle tomorrow/ Thursday Amber could go red at some point. My money is on north Northumberland and borders.

    Light snow here now. Had around 4-5 inches overnight with no melt. Plenty more brewing in the North Sea
