  1. Dont wory about buying memory cards abroad they are a standard types the world over sometimes a particular brand may not work in your device but you can find brand compatibility list on most device websites. Beware of cheap cards/ memory sticks for pc/usb sticks etc. on ebay they are sometimes manufactures seconds or non branded but disguised as well known brands they may not be full capacity as they sometimes have errors/bad sectors on them. but they still usualy work i still use em myself

Had a drive around Thame some very minor roof damage on trading estate lots of rubbish blown around nothing of much note except that only that area was worst effected the rest of Thame had the odd small branch and abit of rubbish blown around even a couple wheelie bins blown over quite a bit of standing water around, I suspect just a bit of squally wind shear but who knows I only looked at night and didnt speak to any eye witnesses but my girlfriend is convinced of the possibilty from what she saw and heard but it was hard to see what was going on as extremely heavy rain and hail at time just been looking at my lightning detector some activity of sw brittany looked at latest sat pics some nice lumpy cloud in same area plus some out in sw aproaches so keep a weather eye open today

  11. If you have vista or windows 7 try windows live movie maker, its got all the basics is easy to use is not a memory hog and renders video quicker than premier elements cost is free and on low spec notebooks (so long as it has dualcore and got a HD capable graphics card onboard and a 2g ram some of the newer netbooks meet these specs) does 1080p video all be it a bit slow unless you have a very fast pc, and you can play them in windows media player although you may get the occasional stutter skip etc. amongst the equipment i will be bringing will be Kodak Zi8 pocket cam ContourHD 1080p cam both record in 1080p .mov the contourHD is a helment cam but i have an adapter to fit it to a 1/4" thread i will put it on a twin mount with my dslr as it has a very wide angle lens 110deg/135deg dependent on HD mode used, hopfully good for cloud formation daytime lightning etc. you can see some video from the contourHD on my youtube page http://www.youtube.c...er?feature=mhw4 I will put some video from the Zi8 on end of nextweek. And before anybody says yes both cams are small aperture but i have used the Kodak Zi8 in my car at night and was quite supprised not too bad as long as you dont zoom in too much plenty of videos from both cams on youtube and the contour users group for those looking for a notebook charger i found this online i may get one http://www.ultimate-netbook.co.uk/Acer/acer-ferrari-one-accessories/batteries-chargers/uni-dc-car-charger%20___1670.htm

  15. read this morning on stormtrack (i think may be elsewere trying to find it again) that EL NINO is picking up again in the last few days and that it may be favourable for severe storms although there was concern that it would lead to storm fronts with lots of cells embeded causing plenty of tornados but they would be rain wrapped and fast moving so difficult to spot, but who knows these are only others opinions
  16. 3 month forecast here http://www.cpc.noaa....onal.php?lead=2
  17. I used to be a regular winter visitor to Oslo i used to go xcountry skiing in the Oslo Marka (forest) staying in Oslo i have even skied Viglen Park in the city in general Oslo is in a cold area it may be at low level even on the coast at the top of a long inlet, Oslo Fjord but it is sheltered by mountains from the west coast so the atlantic influence is moderated, i have seen the fjord frozen over and people fishing through the ice. Oslo even has its own small alpine skiing area must be one of the few if only capitol city in wordl to have one and the famous ski jump and xcountry ski race area at Homenkollen. The first time i visited Oslo about 12 years ago the news media was claiming record low tempratures for Oslo the warmest it got in a week was -17c. night time i cannot remember but it was -35c i did see -55c mentioned. So all you cold & snow lovers that frequent this forum visit Oslo late january or febuary you will probably get to see real winter not englands pretend one. I have only been dissappointed a couple of times 1 year it rained at city level but not to bad up the hills outback of city and another time it was a bit mild and foggy, but I have seen it snow heavy for a whole week cabin had about 6" snow on roof when arrived several feet by end of week, snow ploughs out on roads nonstop. Look at the webcams in Oslo http://www.webcamsinnorway.com/webcams.php to get an idea of the present weather http://voksenlia.net/ being a particuly good one complete with a personal weather station.
  18. http://forum.netweather.tv/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=97658 looks to me to be a realtime spirit detector it finds there emf. that enables you to comunicate with them see speaker mic etc. found several other similar pics by googling so he must know i am sorry to reply but I think Robert must be a windup merchant sure it isnt someone just having a bit of fun at the expence of this forum and hopfully they will disapear back into cosmos soon
