Those Causeway and Bayway bridges, look very treacherous to cross at present, the water levels are near the tops of the bridges. Fools if they are trying to get across them at this late stage.

"we are currently watching Hurricane Katrina as it heads north, Katrina looks to head towards the UK and there is a strong chance that the UK could see very high winds and extermely heavy rain, further updates will appear here"

will it hit the uk like irene did.

I think that Katrina will have become nothing more than a bog-standard depression of 998 millibars by the time it reaches UK.

Expect nothing more than rustling leaves.... :lol:

its a company that issues weather and travel warnings for northern ireland, they did say on there site about a month ago that they were opening a uk weather site but i havent seen it yet.

how niw can forecast the UK going to get the remnants of Katrina at this stage, I dont know, too many variables, too many what if's and maybe's.

they might be right, we arent wrong about the heavy rain if the flash weather warning for lisburn, moira, tandragee, antrim, newry, belfast, carrickfergus, larne, lurgan and armagh. because within about 10 minutes of that being issued it started pouring down

now rain heading into the superdome,apperently the stuff that kept it waterproof has been ripped of by the winds,apperently some strange noises coming from the roof area,I wonder just how severe storm is at present i suspect it's probably at its peak now but with no way to find out as no-one wil lbe foolish enough to be out in the street,as they will be blown away!!!

The best way to imagine the strength of the wind is to stick your head out of the window in your car while moving at 60-70mph,thats just below a category-1 wind,the lowest of the hurricane winds.
