The roads were like a skating rink, even at 10:00am this morning. The ice had only really started to clear from the shaded roads around midday.

Not sure how cold it was where I live, but the air must have been very, very damp, to leave that amount of ice.

-4c the min last night and that's 9 consecutive nights between -2c and -5c. A lovely hoar frost which is still in shaded areas now, so will reform I guess from sunset.

Hi I thought instead of giving a frost report everytime, I'd give the number of frost days we've had this winter halfway through, and I'll give the rest at the end.

so far we have registered 29 frosts since September but i did not write the dates down, although I have got some information in a weather journal so I'll dig that out and give details later

Hi Stephen,

My records since the frost season started is now 44 days recorded somewhere in NW England from the sink holes of Cumbrian Fells to the sandy Cheshire plains. -1C in my garden now at 18z so 45 by tomorrow morning. Not bad going with more on the horizon.

Just to say its the first time the temperatures have been bleow zero in Glasgow at least a fortnight which is a change from the mild conditions we have had due to there being overcast skies which kept the temperatures up during the night.

A really frosty night last night, not something we have had much of lately

Cars all covered and a good skim on grass and tarmac.

Thermometer didn't go below about 2ºC (maybe sheltered on the house wall), but it became cloudy and all gone by morning.
