Just starting to rain - quite light showers. Air feels moist and cold.

8/8 cloud cover - very low very grey stratus. Some orangey patches in the sky, I have a view of the sea (accross to Devon in part, and then a sea horizon.) the horizon is a lot closer than usual due to a very hazy cloud obscuring the view in the distance (almost looks like a fog!) closing in quickly it seems.

another warm day here, not as sunny as yesterday but a touch warmer at 21.^C.

Not sure, need to check but it may be the first time since I started doing weather records, Jan 1997, that I have recorded 2 consecutive days in October of 21C

Temperature here dropped from 17C to 14C in just 40 minutes when the wind changed from a south-easterly to a northerly. Durham is just north of a wind convergence point now where southerlies meet northerlies.

It became very overcast around mid-day and then we had continuous light rain for a couple of hours,then 10 minutes heavier rain but since only very light drizzle,temperature 11.7c, humidity 98%, calm, barometer 1009 mb and steady.
