Very strange frost has all gone temps on the rise

Currently got dense freezing fog, something we've managed to escape on the three previous nights of frosts

Temperature did drop to -3.4C at 10pm, but has risen since the fog developed.

Temperature has been steadily rising through the night, and we are now at 2.7ºC with cloudy B) skies. Where did that come from then?

Well, it was forecasted for a -5ºC minimum, and now it is +3.7ºC! The temperature rising by 0.6º in the last 10 minutes or so. Well be lucky to get freezing tonight then.

4.3ºC now! This is an incredible rise in temperature. I've been outside and checked, and the garden isn't on fire.

I had a quick look on Ceefax page 404, bit odd... York was 2C at 1am, but 5C at 2am, yet Leeds is -2C at 2am. Newcastle was 5C at 1am, but 3C at 2am. All these places report "cloudy". Its much milder over Scotland. So a patchy, rather localised frost looks on the cards for northern England then.

Shrewsbury is the coldest at -6C at 2am with fog.

Here the fog has lifted and the temperature has dropped to -3.6C.

I have just peered outside to see just as much frost as last night Fri/Sat . Having come down stairs and looked at my current outside temperature on my Weatherstation i find its 3.1°c with a Max of 3.8 @ 04:58 . Whats going on ?
