Still going strong in swansea, now the southern skies are pure pink purple, when will it end?

I'm glad I saw the met office aurora forecast before heading out, had I kept to the NOAA prediction I'd have just gotten here 30mins ago after leaving the house at 10pm and missed out on all the action, KP is 8.3 and expected to stay at these elevated levels all through the night.

So last time I saw this was in 2001...

Never seen this in May before its a blast from the past tonight..

Started as a false dawn to the east..

Last time it was overhead was in 1989 so how does it compare with then nowhere near as bright as that one..Spring 2000 was also much brighter which was to the north more...

It went as far south as Corvus the crow well Spica anyway..

Also nearly walked into a badger up in the top field,that was close..
