UK Outlook for Saturday 26 Sep 2009 to Monday 5 Oct 2009:

The high pressure that brought a good deal of settled weather to the UK looks like declining through the weekend with the weather becoming more unsettled across northern and western parts. But for many the weekend looks like remaining dry with some pleasant sunshine, though could be chilly by night with some fog patches. This unsettled weather is expected to spread to all but the extreme south by Monday. This bringing outbreaks of rain and noticeably colder conditions, especially so the in strong northwesterly wind. The unsettled weather looks like being maintained across the north, whereas some parts of the south could well stay generally dry through this period. Temperature wise, overall near normal, though parts of the north especially, could be rather cool at times.

UK Outlook for Monday 28 Sep 2009 to Wednesday 7 Oct 2009:

Unsettled weather is expected to spread south during Monday. This bringing outbreaks of rain and noticeably colder conditions, especially so given the strong northwesterly wind. The unsettled weather looks like being maintained across the north, whereas some parts of the south should stay generally dry through this period. Temperature wise, overall near normal, though parts of the north especially, could be rather cool at times. Over the second weekend there is a tendency for a more cyclonic pattern to becoming established. Rain or showers likely to affect most parts, heaviest in the north with an increasing risk of strong winds or gales. The best of any brighter weather most likely in the far south and southwest. Temperatures near normal in the south, but rather cold at times in the north.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 30 Sep 2009 to Friday 9 Oct 2009:

At first we can expect southern and southwestern areas to be mainly dry with some sunshine at times. Some overnight fog patches are likely to form here, although these will disperse during the mornings. Northern and northeastern parts are likely to remain more unsettled with occasional rain or drizzle, especially across Scotland, although it may become brighter in the far northeast with scattered showers. Temperatures should be generally close to average, although it may remain locally rather warm in the southeast. Then from the weekend onwards we are currently expecting unsettled conditions to spread to all areas. Thus we can expect either showers or more persistent rain for most areas at times, with temperatures a little below normal and the potential for occasionally strong to gale force winds.

The rain is likely to be heavy at times in the north and west, with some brighter spells in the south and east, where they are likely to see the driest of the conditions. UK Outlook for Wednesday 7 Oct 2009 to Friday 16 Oct 2009:

The period will start on quite an unsettled note with rain or showers in many parts and perhaps some strong winds in the south at first. On the first Friday and over the weekend southern parts are expected to have a drier and more settled interlude with some sunshine but with temperatures near or rather below the average for the time of year and with some overnight frosts. Unsettled conditions are likely to persist in northern areas however, with the heaviest rain in the northwest. There is no clear signal at present for conditions into the next week, the most probable is for northern and western areas to see most of the rain and windier conditions with drier and brighter conditions in the south and with near average temperatures generally.

UK Outlook for Thursday 15 Oct 2009 to Saturday 24 Oct 2009:

Up to and including the first weekend conditions are likely to be settled across the bulk of the United Kingdom. We can therefore expect dry conditions with variable cloud, but with a risk of fog patches during the overnight and morning periods. The temperature may become chilly during the nights and mornings, with a risk of ground frost in places, although it is expected to recover during the afternoons in any sunshine. Exceptions to these dry conditions are likely to be the far north and northwest of Scotland and possibly also the far east of England, where there may be a little rain or drizzle at times. Then during the second week unsettled weather with rain or showers and strong winds is expected to gradually extend southeastwards to all areas.

Most parts should have a fine weekend with sunny spells. However, it will be chilly overnight, with patchy mist and fog forming.
