California still seems to be getting rattled more than usual — quite an increase in the number of small quakes. To my (untrained) eye, it appears almost double the usual number. I guess these things possibly go in stops and starts.

BREAKING NEWS.........JAMAICA EARTHQUAKE OF MAGNITUDE 4.4

IT IS VERY REMOTE FOR EARTHQUAKES IN THIS REGION. 4.4 IS NOT MASSIVE, BUT LOCALS HAVE REPORTED FROM THE WESTERN PART - WEST MORELAND TO HAVE A QUAKE SINCE THE LAST ONE MANY YEARS AGO IS FRIGHTENING.

I CAN ONLY QUOTE FROM WEST MORELAND AS MY WIFE'S FAMILY LIVE THERE.

BREAKING NEWS.........JAMAICA EARTHQUAKE OF MAGNITUDE 4.4

IT IS VERY UNUSUAL FOR EARTHQUAKES IN THIS REGION

http://earthquake.us...m44.php#details

Not so unusual: http://www.mona.uwi.edu/earthquake/jaequake.php

In the great scheem of things a 4.4 is pretty small beer.

Check facts before sensationalising. eg. Kingston, 16th. Jan 1907 or further back; Port Royal, 7th. June 1692

Earthquakes in this area are very remote. I can quite understand your post though. I should have expanded on my last quote. I'll do this right now and thanks for your understanding.
