okay thank u,,,

also may do it tonight to make ice rink for kids and dogs, if it freezing :):)

Hopefully by then your path will be covered in snow and you won't need to make an ice rink :)

Hi all. Been lurking here for a bit now. Love reading about all the excitement. My hubby has just been called out to go drive the grit truck in central London. Goodness knows when I will see him again if we get a good pasting! I'm used to tracking severe storms and hurricanes (lived in Florida for 6 years). Still learning about the UK synoptic set up and such.

I'm in Ewell currently and have broken cloud cover... It is bitterly cold out in the wind though. Lots of curtain twitching going on :)

Best of luck to ya all. Hope to see loads of pics :)

I have to give it to Paul B (i think?) for forecasting this much better than the BBC have done so far! :)

Thanks. :)

I really couldn't see why the BBC were mentioning wintry flurries for this afternoon on their Friday forecasts given the forecast models.

Why do i fear that i will be too far north and too far south! Does a Thames streamer affect the home counties?? Bright here at mo, no sign of snow :)

It probably won't but expect quite a bit of snow tomorrow but also from overnight showers.

Take a look at this radar and what has developed in the Thames Estuary http://www.meteox.co.uk/h.aspx?r=&jaar...;soort=loop1uur. No snow since the 15 minute shower about an hour ago in Harwich (Essex Coast). Temp 1c dew point -5.7c, cloud coming from ENE.

Its disintegrating as it hits London though, shifting South to Kent :)

Clouding over now though, at last, forgot which way to look for the showers been so long since the last Easterly.

Is that down to the really low humidity? I have 66% here, which is the lowest i can remember for some time. As a result the dewpoint is -3.8C, despite an air temp of 1.9C

Here in North Norfolk, we have had some heavyish snow showers since 9.30 this morning giving a slight covering. Temps and dewpoints all over the shop. At 830 this am we had a temp of 2C, dewpoint of -6 and a strong wind. In the snow, temps dropped to 0.5C, dewpoint increased to -1C and the wind dropped slightly. Now we have a clearance, the temp is 1C, dewpoint -5C and the wind has increased again!

And looking at the Radar, we will not have much more for a couple of hours at least, the wind is really biting now
