Unfortunately the nature of showers means someone is always going to be someone disappointed, theres always another day :)

Shower starting to approach from the east now :)

Unfortunately weve only missed by a few miles as usual. Im off now-this is plain rubbish. :(

Going to be interesting to see what happens with those developments to my west as they come up against the breeze from off the sea. We have misty low cloud and a southeasterly wind here on the Suffolk coast. XC Weather shows up the variable winds across East Anglia well:

This is really starting to annoy me now. We had moderate rain developing and the skies getting darker from the west, but now its stopped and nothing is happening. The rumbles have also stopped.

I wish I lived in Consett now, its only a few miles up the road in a car.

Just heard a rumble of thunder here in Polesworth. Looks like the storm is going to travel just south of us on its way to Leicester though.

Those cells look nasty north east of Cambridge and they're very slow moving too. Wonder if there'll be any tornado reports by close of business today. There will certainly be a few flash flooding stories at the very least I would imagine.

I've got a cracking headache in the past hour too, must be because the storm's approaching.

Hmm i think its obvious now that nothing will reach here now. What a fantastic rubbish day.

Yeah, the game's up here as well I think. It's dull and overcast now; the rain to the south is light and not at all of interest. I thought maybe some showers over mid and south wales would head this way but looking at the MetO radar loop things are starting to go due east now. You may be lucky though Blizzards, anything could happen in the next few hours (even though the Beeb and Metoffice's forecasts contradict anything interesting happening in this part of the country from here on in).

Looks like a few cells firing up around bristol running along the M4 corridor towards london. One rapid developing cell around the glous / oxfordshire border atm.

Another storm developing here, two rumbles so far and moderate rain, very nice cloud base which I have my eyes fixed on.

Rumbles coming from all directions, because there are massive towers going up everywhere within a few miles.

Oh dear looks like something is brewing west of the Oval cricket ground (SE11) where Englnad are due to play West Indies for a place in the 20/20 cricket semi-final

afternoon all, suffering from a stiff neck after watching and hoping we would catch a good storm but alas a few rumbles and a bit of rain, anyone cheer me up and say south lincs is still in the fireing line for a good storm

The cell a few miles to my west is just raining itself out and it wont budge.

I give up. I'm off to do something else.

I'm still hoping we might catch something later, in Cheltenham. It has been tame so far today though. A few dribbles of convection but I haven't seen any very impressive towers yet.

Well local BBC Radio forecast was a bit strange.......

Forecaster mentioned huge, torrential downpours which had occoured leaving damage and large storms BUT said nothing really else this evening, i really think this is a mistake, i'm sure there will be more storms this evening, anyone else agree?
