Well, I'll go for 28C... :D

Oh I forgot - somewhere west of London.

28c in bournemouth due to the cloud amounts in the east, higher uppers in the SW and a possible NE flow so i reckon somewhere in dorset/SW area at about 27-28c

I'd go along with that, looking at NW and the weather into next week only Tuesday at present is showing wall-to-wall sun around here. The other days, although nice temps, aren't showing 0% cloud cover with more cloud around.

I'd say 27c somewhere towards the South West, although London will have the city-heat and the hot-spot of Heathrow Airport I don't think the highest temps will be around here.

No bias due to your location then?! :D I'd love that to come through...but Bournemouth does suffer a couple of degrees cheers to being on the coast. Maybe Dorchester?

some bias maybe haha! but seriously the hot spell at the start of june saw dorset and bournemouth area the warmest with 27 and 26c because positioning of the high. if there is a slack NE flow and no sea breeze i dont see why 28c wont be reached, possibly in this area or somewhere around SW

BBC forcast saying could be the hottest weather of year so far. Looking good for the South and West. Strange this talk of heat I was wondering whether to put the log stove on this evening.

Difficult to say where the exact highest temp would be as only the "official" Met Office sites would count. I'd say an "official" high will be recorded at the Lee-On-Solent site (on the Hampshire coast) as this is where the years highest temp so far was recorded at the beggining of the month (27.2C), I think it could get to 28C here next week... I'd say 27c somewhere towards the South West,

That figure was my guess in today's Model Output Discussion (not that I claimed Somerset/Glastonbury would be the hottest place, but I said 27C was my guess .... )

But if this figure is right I'm happy ..... B)

Would be nice to beat 33°C we got here in 2003, though somehow I doubt that is going to happen but I would not be surprised to see a 28°C looking at things.

GFS 12z takes Mondays warmth down a good 3 or 4 degrees down for some!

If the very warm weather actually happens i would say 29c somewhere in the West Midlands, SW England or CS England.

No heat at all if GFS 12Z is correct with a cooler northeasterly flow.

of course as most know Eugene it depends on what spin you wish to put on it, the link below shows the afternoon temperatures the same chart is predicting;

most are above normal and some into the rather warm or even warm.

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/fsavneur.html

I'm not aware that it was predicted to be any much different for a few days?

Guest North Sea Snow Convection

I think it is true to say that the GFS appears to be following the ECM with a slightly cooler ENE airflow rather than an ESE one.

I think some of the circa 30C expectations on here may be a little optimistic - no doubt though that it is going to be a very pleasant week and with warm temps and a refreshing easterly breeze as opposed to stagnant stifling heat for many it will be better for it as far as I am concerned. 25C looks nearer the mark imo with strong sunshine. Maybe a 27C further west.

The hot temps and humidity are a good trade off for big thunderstorms and downpours instead of blistering sunshine to accompany it - but that can hopefully develop with time
