I struggling to see how this can't be anything other than snow, it's made it into Wales as snow, there is snow to the south of us. We really must be unlucky if it falls as rain.

i hope Im wrong but I think there is alot more mild air with this.

My temp is now

1.5 °C

Mostly Cloudy

Windchill: -3 °C

Humidity: 87%

Dew Point: -1 °C

Wind: 17.7 km/h / 4.9 m/s from the SW

some places up North the temp's shot up quite quickly before falling again.

Bringing snow and sleet and rain in a few places..

Starting to believe Ian's forecast to be honest..

Maybe freezing rain will be more of the problem after all..

Gutted pardon.gif - snow in Frome.... And I'm down with some family in Barnstaple and its raining unknw.gif

Whats the prediction "snow wise from Frome" - expecting much??

[/quote/]

i think this will be close going by the rader. i think reason why it shows snow in wales at the moment is because ain't it really high ground there?? don't want to seem to put a downer on it but there is rain in that system and sleet

Yeah my temp is rising, from 1.9c to 2.7c. Freezing rain is nothing to be sniffed at, a unique weather event in it's own right.

I remember when we had freezing rain in Weston several years back. It was truly amazing, I tried getting into my car & finding it was encased in ice. When I finally got in & went for a drive, every where was like one great big ice rink.

Temp is currently 1.7c and dropping.

There are a few flakes floating about in the air. and the snow from yesterday is still fully fozen solid on the pavement and garden.

The showers heading down from NW wales are also intensifying.

So fingers crossed.

it is actually snowing in plymouth... very rare sight! clap.gif

Having been on Devonport beat, I had the fortune of being in Ernesettle at 1145am till 1215. It was a wonderful sight to see the pavements go from grey to white in that period. Funnily driving down St Levans Road towards the main Dockyard gate at 1140am my colleague swore she saw a flake of snow, but Mr Sceptic here blamed it on some people smoking a ciggie and the ash hitting the windscreen!!

Fantastic sight to see, even the City Centre had a dusting.

One happy bunny tonight!

Looks like the precip is pepping up in Wales, that's a good thing I guess.

Temp has creeped above 0c just but DP is still below. I think that we might as well give up down here for snow until the otherside of the New Year, but we'll see.

Don't give up mate, if you wake up in the morning & there is no snow, then we have a chance from beffy showers blowing in from the North West tomorrow.

Then if you don't get any snow from that, then yes give up until the new year.

Tonight's snow event is looking a bit pathetic at the moment - a thin band crossing the country - sod's law means it'll split over Cheltenham

I did just take a peek at the Met Office website which does a Dartmoor specific forecast and it did go for wintry showers becoming frequent tomorrow afternoon, at least thats how it read as it was updated after 3pm this afternoon.

Having said that, I didn't really expect anything from it, we could of done with a low coming in from the SW yesterday... that would of been fun.
