Looks like my moaning paid off :D Just had a nice moderate snow shower here in East Dorset with a light dusting! - Might have to moan more often. :D

Chapmanslade!!, It wasnt hopecasting, a few websites including this website forecast snow for east dorset for the last few days!! and im not blind, i know what i saw!!! which goes to prove that some sites forecasts are really not reliable!! especially when they say 92% chance!

At least i now have learnt what forecasts not to use!

I don't think it is the forecast which is unreliable, it's the weather that's unreliable. Snow is notoriously difficult to forecast accurately, more often than not coming down to a forecast of less than a few hours away at best.

I think it's potent enough to make it, but the question is whether or not we are in the firing line, and it doesn't skirt us to the north! Fingers crossed.

True, it is only just the beggining of winter at the end of the day! Still got the rest of the month, January and Feb yet, and if we're to get any its usually in feb. We've had a snow shower here now so its all good, im happy! :D

Possibly.. just keep watching the radar, that's what I'm doing because it's such an uncertain situation.

Interestingly the 06z GFS had a band of snow covering much of the SW at 18z this evening... at odds with the Met Office. Will it? Won't it? rolleyes.gif

I am trying to retain a bit of dignity here, but it just ain't happening for me.

The cloud comes over from the east and then disappears down to the south. I have been watching it for a couple of hours. It keeps doing the same old thing, and the "swing" of it means that my area just keeps on missing out.

To add to my gloom and doom, a gas bill and a phone bill have just come through the letterbox!

That is an annoying warning! I was thrilled when I saw it but the "icy roads" warning is a bit of an anticlimax. Still, they haven't completely ruled out snow, saying "rain, sleet and snow". I think they're expecting the rain/snow line to be around Herefordshire/Worcs from the warnings, which north of there are for snow. Cotswolds are in with a good chance though. Best case scenario would probably be like 28th Jan 2004 where we had heavy rain which quickly turned to snow, with thunder, and produced a treacherous layer of ice beneath 2 inches of snow.
