oooo just missing me, blizzard to the north n south of me then, hopefully its all filling in from the west.

The good thig is every flakes settling, it would only take an hour of heavy snow to drop a couple of inches..

Pretty steady snow for about 45 mins now, alternating between moderate and heavy, adding to what was already laying. Hard to judge current total depths though because the wind is blowing the snow off flat surfaces, but drifts are starting to build now. Temp hovering between -1.4C and 1.8C. Will try and get a few pics.

What are the chances of the showers making it over to the east coast?

I didn't think there was much chance, but there is actually light snow here. If you look at the rain today radar site, it picks it up really well, with light pink blobs forming N of York heading East and you'll see one to the NW of Driffield, which has moved over us. Nothing much, but promising!

Now seems to be even more promising and approaching York.

The snow isn't too far away from my area, and it's clouding over.I'll be very surprised if it reaches here though.

Looking at the radar there seems to be a quite organised band moving quite quicklt eastwards so you never know.

wow, well! :yahoo:

Been snowing for just over an hour sometime very heavy, sometimes light, and we've now gone from a few mm to a couple of inches!!

The roads are covered and I haven't seen a gritter yet - we're next to the main depot in our area.

Looks like the ppn is starting to get going from the west too, so could well be in line for quite a good dumping today!

just a little concerned that the temps are slowly creeping up!!
