so close, so close I can smell it. Just a little bit longer. Clouded over nicely here now and looking ready for some more action smile.gif

Yes, looks like the shower we had an hour ago in north Essex is due to hit you.

Chelmsford was just on BBC1 saying its been heavy snow earlier - Just started in Westcliff! Wondering if it's worth risking going to work in London incase I can't get back later?!

Very heavy snow here again, sky looks full of the stuff, is any where else in Essex seeing this? Can't just be colchester??

We had a heavy shower around 40 minutes ago, slowed down after about 10 minutes just starting to get heavier again now. I wasn't expecting anything this early in the day!

From this radar return, you can see the eye of the small low NE of Norfolk.

http://www.buienradar.nl/images.aspx?jaar=-3&bliksem=0&voor=&soort=loop1uur1x1&tijdid=201017946

By midnight this is expected to lie in the Channel, just south of the Kent/Sussex border.

Looks like snow for quite a few in our region today.

Regards,

Tom.

Tom....starting to see some lightning activity associated with this system. Is it expected to develop further as it crosses the SE ?

Edit: Snow started, record intact. Snow everyday this decade !

Hopefully, as clouding overclap.gif

Looking at the radar pictures from 8 o'clock, it seems Colchester had more snow than just a little way east.

Ahhh so that is all moving south!

Thanks! And yeah someone push the button please!:)

The problem is that I'm 15 miles south west of Peterborough and these showers are dying out before they even get to me, so I can't see (unless they are progged to maintain their intensity) how people south of Peterborough and the Wash will get snow

Alpine like here... snow everywhere and lots of it, but the sun is shining brightly but not strong enough to melt it seems.

Expecting more later to top up our foot?

Back to dandruff PPN in South Woodham after 7 minutes of the moderate variety. Filled in someof the bare patches on the roofs. An inch of grass tip still poking out numerous places... half a cm added in the last 20 minutes.

BBC Radio 4 7:57 forecast gave a warning for eastern counties and London from this Polar Low - moving in earlier than thought.

Forecast 2-4 inches of snow and increasing winds.
