Well we have light snow in Hackenthorpe and only 100 meters above sea level anda mile from the Rotherham boundary.

A slight thaw here today. The powdery snow has compacted together but there is still over 10cmand the pavements are even more slippy

Its crap, im lower than you im at 120ft. Also about 15 miles ish further north.

Light-moderate snow at times, with the odd heavier burst, so far 1-2cm of fresh snow, if nothing improves till 11:59PM, I give up. The big band over Norwich and the east coast looks to be heading here, we should do very well from that.

Raining here. Snow is also melting at a steady pace.

Good old Rob M on news 24 "for the moment winter not quite as harsh as it has been, but do yourself a favour and do not try and cross the pennines in the next few hours" Nicegood.gif

Yep, I heard that as well, and to be honest I wouldn't disagree, it's getting quite unpleasant out there now, and if that rain band just crossing E. Yorkshire gets this far and turns to snow, it'll get a lot worse before it get's any better !

But he is correct tonight. The synoptic set up for today was always a developing one, even he said that. Many pros were found wanting due to 2-3 degree warming over north sea, not expected.Cut the man some slack.

Not good, still snowing here, I'm 100% sure it will turn back to snow, the temps rose by 0.3c earlier due to lack of any moderate precipitation, the PPN was very light indeed. A more organised ban of precipitation is moving in and temps are already dropping so it should readily turn to snowsmile.gif .

Slightly heavier precipitation has made it here, after a brief rise in temps the temp is now the lowest this evening at -0.1c, the snow is settling readily even though it is a bit heavier than light.

Moderate to heavy snow here, for last 10-15 minutes, main roads are covered, and the car next door that was cleared 20 minutes ago has a fresh 1-2cm of snow cover, things are looking good!drinks.gif
