Nice temp drop here, from 2.3c at 1.30pm to 0.7c now. Hopefully the snow that has been falling fairly steadily starts to stick soon. Flakes appear to be getting bigger, but like other places the snow is still wet.

EDIT: In the process of writing this the snow has got quite heavy and is starting to stick!!!:yahoo:

What website do people use to get accurate temperatures.

Them readings are from my own weather station, but if you dont have one then Weather Underground I think is quite good for local temps.

Snow has now started to settle nicely - didn't look like it was going to for a while, but temp is now 0.5 and it's coming down heavier and with decent flake size.

Steady snow now, starting to settle. (work at Birchwood buisness park)

Getting a little thicker as the temps drops away.

guessing rush hour will be bad if this keeps up.

Just driven from Bury to Bacup and had heavy snow with large flakes all the way, its settling on roads and pavements quite happily now. All the trees, grass etc are totally covered and there appears to be loads more heading in this direction.

Its a very slow process, but the snow is starting to stick to pavements and roads. Lovely.

Judging by the latest radar it is moving quite fast so about another 40-50 minutes for the coast.

After going a bit lighter it has intensified a bit and starting to come down heavier with nice size flakes. How long you reckon this will last for Blackburn area?

Another whiteout here, winter 9-10, what a year!

To be honest I'd be getting more excited about this if we'd not had the falls in Dec & Jan. And Sunday morning.

Plus temps will be on the rise soon so it won't last but honestly, some recent years todays event would be as good as we got all winter!
