Good chance much of Cumbria will see some snow cover tomorrow. How heavy remains to be seen, the front does look like it is going to weaken as it heads across the region, hilly parts could see a few inches, it is one of the situations which could still easily bring some surprise localised heavy snowfall. We haven't had any fresh snow cover since the 13th. We missed the snow at the weekend, will be nice to see some snow cover again, we seem to have been in a bit of a snow shield lately in one of the worst parts of the country to benefit from the snowy synoptics the weekend being a case in point.

Could be an interesting rush hour for Manchester and Liverpool area if this NAE 18z comes off

I hope so Mr Data. As Chris said we were spoiled in January! I did enjoy the graupel though at the weekend even though it washed away Sunday. I don't understand why my colleagues prefer grey and wet days instead of bright, white days!

It's rained all day here off and one and we really need our wellies in the fields and on the shore to walk the dogs.

(Counsellor Troi..... I wish!!! :) )

Latest BBC forecast seems to think the snow won't be too heavy in our parts. The Midlands look to the be favoured spot today.

Looking at the local forecasts and the meto update it seems as though the possibility for a bit of snow has now all but gone for here. Seems quite a big change at such short notice, we had quite a sharp frost last night, has the colder air moved further South than expected ? therefore weakening the band of precipitation ?

Its showing slight precipitation on the radar, but nothing at all is coming out of the sky. Also about 1/2 hour ago it was showing a blizzard over bury and there was nothing, maybe this was a fault on the radar.

Has anyone in the region seen anything, rain or snow?

Nothing yet in Manchester, in fact I can see the sun through the high cloud!

However, the heaviest part of the precipitation is still well away to the west, over the Irish sea. So it should take a few hours to get here.
