Very boring on Tyneside. The sun and the showers are still raging away to the west, while we have featureless stratocumulus layers coming in from the North Sea.

This webcam is supposed to be showing the developments on Lancaster University campus. However (typical, while I'm not there!) the University is having some very dramatic weather. The latest images look more like meteorological snapshots than campus work shots, due to the weather conditions there... I sense they're having quite some hailstorm.

(PS to get a decent image set, only "Archived images" and "Images" will work- "Animation" and "Latest images" don't work, but the Archived images are updated every 15 minutes)

Taking note of the lady saying bright sun, but torrential rain 1/4 mile away, has anybody ever been stood literally on the edge of a rain shower? I have once....raining on my right hand side, dry on my left hand side......didn't last long of course as the shower moved over, but that was WEIRD, and also quite exciting, I almost cracked a smile.

The Tyneside coast is sunny with any showers kept well away from the coast, by a perishing, nagging raw northeast wind.

I'm beginning to wish I'd stayed in Lancaster ( ) where it's somewhat less windy (and hence will almost certainly feel warmer), it's just as sunny, and heavy showers are developing in the vicinity.
