Yesterday:

Cold with moderate frost and a few light snow flurries, giving another slight dusting overnight. Low –3.1c, with –7.7c on the grass. At observation, cold, frosty and sunny. There were sunny spells through the morning, but high cloud increased from the west blotting out the sun, so the afternoon was mostly cloudy. Top temperature to 18:00 GMT 3.3c. Maximum wind speed, 17pmh, WSW. Frost returned during the early evening as the sky cleared once more.

A windy, mostly cloudy day with showery light rain/drizzle although there has been some hazy sunshine at times. Currently 7.6c with 89% humidity.

Got down to 1c with an early ground frost cloudy and windy with rain since and a quick thaw of yesterdays snow just a very tiny bit left now well sheltered/snow drifts still there of course from before 6.2c now not overall mild.

All of yesterday's snow has thawed away now in what actually feels almost balmy after the chillyness recently.

Looking at the temperature distribution, your height asl, plus your location is seeing the cold undercutting the warmth, although this will probably cease in a few hours.

at 1210 the temp was 7.2C its now 3.7C as the cold air comes in so not too surprising that some parts north of here are getting some snow on the back edge of the ppn-OON for example.

so quite a change from lunch time when temp and dewpoint on 7.7C and 4.7C respectively
