Can't stay awake any longer. Thought I saw a flash over to my north, the wind has picked up a lot and its quite cloudy, can see the street lights reflecting off the cloud.

im worried what my happen to me, i was watchign a cell once with vigourous lightning and it was hazey so you couldnt see the anvil but you could see the lightning and i was soo concerntrated on that one cell that i didnt realise one was comign up from behind me i turned around and caught this massive flash in the corner of my eye!! was awsome and pretty scary too!

meteogroup radar has either a glip or a tornado touched down at 1245am french time..... just south of cherbourg peninsular..... very intense storms north french coast....

Angry thunder in the distance as a storm brushes just East of here, nothing new there.

This is only round 1, theres a scattering of powerful storms and showers leaving the Normandy coast right now, lots of lightning being detected down that way, however like everything else they're taking on a quite an Easterly drift which will limit their coverage.

Also note what appears to be a strong multicell area over the Bay of Biscay which no could well efect some areas later this morning.

Its a change from most of the more recent summer storms setups where the window of opportunity is only a few hours long.

Another weak thunderstorm just rolled on through behind the bigger one, seen an ok amount of lightning with this set-up, and an awful lot of rumbling above without any lightning. Once again a nice cell going over Brentwood region in Essex, they've done well today!
