one bit of really really distant lightning if i wasnt looking in that location at the time i wouldnt of seen it, suerly i should be able to see the lightning happening in south london as when theres a storm in the thames estuary i can see them! maybee its too cloudy!

T.W.S. were you home for this 1? You just have to watch this it's brilliant.

I wasn't, although my parents reported it from Cleadon on that day. Thanks for the link- gives a good idea of what it was like! That month had 7 thunder-days at Cleadon which probably made it the most thundery month in the South Shields area since June 1980. I don't feel hard done by missing that storm though, since Norwich also had 7 thunder-days that month, and while at the Met Office in Exeter I had a couple of surprisingly potent ones by Exeter's standards in the preceding June.

Its all gone a bit foggy here as temperatures drop very close to the dew point but there is still occasional distant thunder, quite eerie.

I've just heard a couple of cracks of thunder and seen some distant lighting, just turned the computer off and turned the light off and there it was, just had to load everything back up to come back on here lol. Anyone know where it's coming from? It was quite distant? im in WS8 x

Just had just over 2hrs of Thunder/lightning here on the Humber yahoo.gif with light rain, looking at the radar theres going to be more big Multicell thunderstorms this way yahoo.gif
