UK Outlook for Monday 23 May 2011 to Wednesday 1 Jun 2011:

Staying changeable into the new week across Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of Northern England, with occasional rain or showers. A risk of gales in exposed northwestern parts of Britain at times. Temperatures around average or just below here. The rest of England and Wales should see drier than normal conditions with a good deal of fine weather, and with a warming trend towards the end of the week. However, some occasional rain or showers are likely at times, particularly the first half of the week. Into the following weekend and onwards, changeable conditions are likely to persist in the northwestern half of the UK, with most of the cooler and wetter conditions here, whilst continuing mostly drier and warmer than average across the southeastern half.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 24 May 2011 to Thursday 2 Jun 2011:

Northern Britain will start Tuesday very windy and wet, with a chance of gales. Otherwise, the mainly dry theme looks likely to continue with variable amounts of cloud and sunny spells. Later in the week, northern areas will probably become more unsettled with rain or showers, whilst only small amounts of rain are expected elsewhere. Temperatures will begin generally around or just below average, with a chance of overnight grass frosts in prone areas during the first week. However, a gradual warming trend is expected later in the week, with signs that southeastern parts may become warm by the end of the weekend, but with a low risk of thundery showers. There is considerable uncertainty by early June, but there is little sign of any significant rainfall in the south.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 25 May 2011 to Friday 3 Jun 2011:

For Wednesday and Thursday some central and northern parts of the U.K. could have rain at times but southern parts, especially the southeast are more likely to dry. Later in the week, northern areas will probably remain unsettled with some rain or showers at times, whilst little or no rain is expected in the south. Temperatures will begin generally around or just below average, with some chilly nights likely during the first week. However, a gradual warming trend is expected later in the week, with signs that southeastern parts may become warm by the end of the weekend, with just a low risk of thundery showers. There is considerable uncertainty for early June, but with little sign of significant rainfall in the south.

UK Outlook for Thursday 26 May 2011 to Saturday 4 Jun 2011:

For Thursday cloud and outbreaks of rain over some southern parts are expected to die out as chilly northeasterly winds develop. Friday is likely to be more generally dry and bright but cool, although rain may reach the far north late in the day. Over the last weekend of May and into the first part of the following week northern and western areas are likely to be unsettled with showers or longer outbreaks of rain but with mostly dry conditions elsewhere. Temperatures will reflect this, generally below normal in the northwest and near normal or warm over southeast England. For the rest of the week into early June indications are for mostly changeable weather to continue in the north and west, with only small amounts of rain in the southeast.

UK Outlook for Friday 27 May 2011 to Sunday 5 Jun 2011:

Breezy, with sunshine and showers for most areas on Friday, perhaps some longer outbreaks of rain in the east at first. More generally dry and bright or clear conditions are expected for a time before rain or drizzle develops once again over northern and western parts for Saturday. Unsettled conditions are then likely to continue early next week, although with southern and eastern parts likely to become more settled and rather warmer. For the rest of next week and into early June the north and west looks like staying mainly unsettled, with further showers or longer spells of rain, while the southeast sees the more settled, mostly dry conditions and also with a trend to rather warmer conditions here.

A mixture of some bright or sunny spells, but also periods of rain or showers this weekend, with the wettest conditions likely in the west and northwest, but little rain in the south and east. Unsettled conditions are then likely to continue early next week with the risk of some heavy rain in the northwest, although with southern and eastern parts remaining generally drier, brighter and warmer. For the rest of next week and into early June the north and west looks like staying mainly unsettled and rather cool at times, with further showers or longer spells of rain, while the southeast sees the more settled, mostly dry conditions and also with a trend to rather warmer conditions here.

UK Outlook for Sunday 29 May 2011 to Tuesday 7 Jun 2011:

A continuation of the changeable weather looks likely during the first part of this period, with further spells of rain or showers moving in from the west. This is likely to be heaviest and most persistent across more northern parts, with little significant rain expected across many southern areas, although occasional light rain or showers are possible. Winds will be strong at times across Scotland in particular, with a risk of gales in exposure, but should remain mainly light elsewhere. Temperatures on the whole look to remain around the seasonal average, but some eastern areas may see above average temperatures, given sunnier conditions. As we move further into June, there is some indication for increased chances of seeing some showers across the south and east of the UK.

UK Outlook for Monday 30 May 2011 to Wednesday 8 Jun 2011:

A continuation of the changeable weather looks likely during this period, mainly the first week, but most of the unsettled weather should be in the north of the UK with often brighter and drier conditions towards the south. So rain or showers are likely to be heaviest and most persistent across Scotland and Northern Ireland, with only occasional rain or showers expected across southern areas at times. Winds will be strong at times in the unsettled weather towards the north, with a risk of gales in exposure, but the winds should be lighter elsewhere. Temperatures on the whole look to remain around the seasonal average, but occasionally cooler in the north with the more unsettled conditions, and warmer in the southeast in any dry and bright weather.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 31 May 2011 to Thursday 9 Jun 2011:

A northwest-southeast split across the UK looks likely for the rest of the first week. The most unsettled weather will affect northwestern areas, with northwest Scotland at risk of some heavy and persistent rain and strong winds. Further southeast, England and Wales will have predominantly dry and often quite sunny weather with light winds, and it is likely to become warm, perhaps very warm. This drier, warmer weather may extend to many northern areas for a time at least. There is a small chance that more generally unsettled conditions may return from the west. Into the following week a good deal of dry weather still appears likely accompanied by above-normal temperatures, especially in the south, although some weak bands of rain or showers are likely from time to time.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 1 Jun 2011 to Friday 10 Jun 2011:

A northwest-southeast split across the UK looks likely to continue at first, with rather unsettled weather affecting northwestern areas. Northwest Scotland is at risk of some heavy and persistent rain and strong winds on Wednesday and Thursday. Further southeast, England and Wales will have predominantly dry and often quite sunny weather with lighter winds, and it is likely to become warm, perhaps very warm. This drier, warmer weather should extend to many northern areas through the first weekend of the month. Throughout the following week, a good deal of dry weather still appears likely accompanied by above-normal temperatures, especially in the south. However, a few showers may develop in places, more especially in the north and east, where it may be cooler.

UK Outlook for Thursday 2 Jun 2011 to Saturday 11 Jun 2011:

Wet and windy in northwest Scotland on Thursday, but elsewhere staying mainly dry with some good spells of sunshine, especially inland. With light winds, it will become warm, perhaps locally very warm inland, although some coasts may stay cooler with afternoon sea breezes. Over the weekend and into the beginning of the new week, it looks like staying mostly dry with some sunshine for most. However, during the afternoons, the cloud may build enough to give isolated showers in the north and east, with a low risk of thundery rain spreading into southeast England for a time. A good deal of dry and warm weather still appears likely though, especially in the south, although it may turn a little cooler in the northeast by the end of the week.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 Jun 2011 to Sunday 12 Jun 2011:

With high pressure across the United Kingdom most parts will be dry on Friday with some good spells of sunshine. It will feel warm, perhaps locally very warm in the sunshine, although it will feel cooler around the coasts where sea breezes develop. Winds will be generally light although it will be rather windy in the southeast of England. These conditions will probably remain in place over the weekend and into the beginning of the new week. There are signs of a gradual change to more unsettled weather during the second half of the week with an increasing risk of showers, and some of these may become heavy and thundery, most likely in the southeast of England.

It will be warm, perhaps locally very warm in the sunshine, although it will feel cooler around the coasts where sea breezes develop. Winds will be generally light although a fresh northeasterly likely towards the southeast of England. These conditions will probably remain in place over the weekend and into the beginning of the new week. However, there are then signs for temperatures to fall closer to normal, especially in the north of the UK. There are also indications of a gradual change to more unsettled weather spreading from the northwest during the second half of the week.

UK Outlook for Sunday 5 Jun 2011 to Tuesday 14 Jun 2011:

The UK should enter the new week mainly dry, with cloud amounts increasing on the previous week and with temperatures likely falling closer to normal values. Winds will be mainly light, although stronger at times in the north of Scotland and towards the southeast of England. By midweek, more changeable conditions should push in from north, with sunny spells punctuated by showers or longer spells of rain, suppressing temperatures in the north. This more changeable weather should make inroads into southern parts at times, although it will be generally drier and brighter, with nearer-normal temperatures. Towards the end of the period, conditions look to be rather unsettled, with the north cooler than average, and with the bulk of rain or showers falling here, although widespread significant rainfall is not expected.

UK Outlook for Monday 6 Jun 2011 to Wednesday 15 Jun 2011:

The UK entering the new week rather unsettled with a cooler feel when compared to the first few days of June. Some sunny spells are expected, but also rain or showers, with rainfall most persistent and heaviest towards the north and west, giving slightly below average temperatures here. Meanwhile the southeast may become locally warm, with a risk of heavy or thundery showers, whilst the best of any dry weather more likely in the west. Later in the week, conditions look to remain unsettled, with showers perhaps turning heavy at times with a risk of thunder. It should remain rather cool for many, although again, perhaps warmer towards the southeast. Towards the end of the period, conditions continue rather unsettled with rain or showers, separated by drier and brighter interludes.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 7 Jun 2011 to Thursday 16 Jun 2011:

An unsettled start across the northern two-thirds of the country, with temperatures around average, or slightly below where rain persists. However it will be somewhat drier and brighter towards the south and east, at least at first, with slightly above average temperatures likely in places. The cooler and unsettled conditions will then spread southeastwards to most parts through the middle of the first week, bringing outbreaks of rain at times, although these will always be more likely towards the northwest. The unsettled conditions look set to continue for much of the period, with the best of any drier weather towards the southeast . However, a slight increase in temperatures is expected into the second week, particularly in southeastern parts.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 8 Jun 2011 to Friday 17 Jun 2011:

The start of the period looks set to begin cool and unsettled for most parts of the UK, with temperatures likely to be below average for much of the UK and particularly low across Scotland. Showers are likely to develop on most days, although there should still be some drier and brighter interludes, particularly towards the southeast of England. As the second week progresses there is a chance of recovery in temperatures across many parts, but particularly in the southeast of the UK where temperatures could be slightly above average in any extended sunny spells. However, although temperatures may well increase, they are not expected to reach values similar to those we have seen over recent days.
