UK Outlook for Wednesday 19 Oct 2011 to Friday 28 Oct 2011:

Starting chilly across the UK with showers for most areas carried in a cool northwesterly wind, and snow showers on the mountains of Scotland and possibly to low levels too in the far northeast. Between showers, especially to the south and west of Britain, there will be sunny intervals, with clear spells overnight allowing a grass frost in rural areas. Towards the weekend and onwards for the rest of the period, conditions remain unsettled with showers merging to give long spells of rain at times. It is also likely to become windier with some risk of gales mainly but not exclusively in western areas. At the same time temperatures are expected to recover towards normal for late October, but may persist in being a little below average in northwestern areas.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 9 Nov 2011 to Friday 18 Nov 2011:

Most of the UK should be largely dry but rather cloudy although a few brighter sells are possible in the far southeast. Some mist and fog may form across these parts overnight though, clearing slowly by day. Northern and western parts of the UK expected to have more in the way of unsettled, wet and windy weather, and this may spread further south and east at times towards the end of the week. During the rest of the period, the north and west of the country is most likely to continue seeing generally unsettled conditions, with drier weather further south and east. Temperatures should stay a little above average generally, although some chilly nights are still likely during any prolonged clearer spells, giving mist or fog and very isolated frosts.

UK Outlook for Saturday 12 Nov 2011 to Monday 21 Nov 2011:

Mostly dry and rather cloudy this weekend across eastern Scotland, eastern and southern England, with brighter, sunnier spells developing in the south later on Saturday. Northern Ireland and some western fringes of Britain may have some rain to clear before turning drier on Sunday. Staying mostly dry and rather cloudy into the new week for most, but sunny spells are likely to develop away from the east coast during the afternoon periods. Low cloud may be persistent near some northeastern coasts in a southeasterly flow, where it will stay cool and rather dull. Overnight frost is also possible where skies stay clear overnight. Perhaps a return to more unsettled weather in the west later in the week. Temperatures generally around average, but above average in any sunshine.

UK Outlook for Sunday 13 Nov 2011 to Tuesday 22 Nov 2011:

Sunday will be fine and dry with spells of sunshine for many. Cloudier skies are possible across Scotland, Northern Ireland and some windward coasts at first, but it should brighten up later. Staying settled into the new working week with a good deal of sunshine for many. Brisk southeasterly winds at first in the south and west, but as these ease, there will be an increasing risk of overnight frost and patchy fog developing, especially in the north and east. After a mild start, temperatures for most will fall to around average, but staying rather cold in any slow-to-clear fog patches. Later next week, it will probably turn more unsettled across southwestern areas with rain at times. A gradual return to milder and more unsettled conditions nationwide seems likely thereafter.
