UK Outlook for Thursday 23 Jun 2011 to Saturday 2 Jul 2011:

Starting showery and unsettled, particularly the far northeast, with wetter conditions across central UK easing towards the first weekend. The best sunshine at this time likely in the southwest. From here, strengthening winds and successive bands of rain should spread into western parts, with the east and especially southeast driest, warmest and brightest. Temperatures generally start below normal, before recovering to nearer-average, with the southeast perhaps creeping above average at times nearer the end of June. Conditions will slowly turn more showery from the west into the new working week, with the unsettled theme continuing into early July. Winds during the final week will generally retain a westerly component, with wetter conditions slightly favoured towards the north and west, whilst the driest weather should come towards the south and east.

UK Outlook for Friday 24 Jun 2011 to Sunday 3 Jul 2011:

A brief spell of drier and more settled weather will edge out showers from northern and eastern parts at first. As the first weekend continues, cloud will increase from the west, with strengthening winds and successive bands of rain spreading in, weakening as they progress eastwards to give the driest and brightest conditions towards the east and southeast. This unsettled picture looks to prevail from late June and into the first days of July, with winds throughout generally retaining a westerly component, giving the main focus of wetter weather towards the west and northwest. These winds will occasionally be strong, with a low risk of gales affecting the exposed northwest at times. Temperatures generally start below normal, before recovering to nearer-average, with the southeast perhaps creeping above average at times.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 28 Jun 2011 to Thursday 7 Jul 2011:

Tuesday is still likely be a very warm day in southeast England. However, there is a high risk of heavy thundery showers during the day in this area. Otherwise, northern and western parts of the UK are likely to remain cooler and more unsettled, with some stronger winds here for a time too. These cooler and more unsettled conditions here will spread southeastwards reaching all parts of the country by Wednesday. Thereafter, for the rest of the period, showers or occasional outbreaks of rain across the country. That said there will still be brighter intervals, with some fine days likely particularly in the southeast. Temperatures ranging from cool in the northwest to normal or above at times in the southeast.

UK Outlook for Saturday 9 Jul 2011 to Monday 18 Jul 2011:

Overall, an unsettled period, with showers or longer outbreaks of rain in many places, but also drier spells. Over the first weekend, the showers and rain will predominantly affect western and northwestern parts; some showers heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. The bias for the heavy showers should then shift towards the northeast for a time early in the new working week. During the same period, winds will increasingly develop a westerly component, with exposed western and particularly northwestern parts often seeing the windiest conditions. Thereafter, while remaining generally unsettled, southern areas at least should see some longer drier spells, with generally west or northwesterly winds. Near-normal temperatures are expected throughout, perhaps falling a little below under more persistent cloud-cover.
