UK Outlook for Thursday 14 Jul 2011 to Saturday 23 Jul 2011:

Remaining generally unsettled across the UK for much of the period. Outbreaks of rain or drizzle are expected in the west on Thursday morning, turning showery later. Showers and sunny spells are then likely to continue from Friday, some showers heavy and thundery. These are expected to mainly affect southern, eastern and central parts of the UK at the start of the weekend. There may then be a spell of more persistent rain during the weekend before the main shower risk transfers to the north and west by Monday (18th). Temperatures will be mostly around or slightly below average, but rather cool where rain persists, particularly across the northwest. During drier and sunnier interludes, temperatures may be locally above normal, especially in southeast England.

UK Outlook for Friday 15 Jul 2011 to Sunday 24 Jul 2011:

Rather unsettled, with the theme of sunshine, showers and light winds giving way to wetter and windier conditions that should spread from the west over the weekend. Temperatures will be suppressed a little below average in general, compounded by brisk or strong winds in exposed west and northwestern areas. It will remain changeable into the new working week: sunny spells and occasionally heavy showers are more likely over central, southern and eastern areas, with more prolonged rainfall also moving across the country times. The strongest winds should continue to affect northern and western parts, with west or northwesterlies dominating the outlook. Continuing mainly unsettled towards the second weekend, with near-average July temperatures, however southern parts may start to see more settled conditions develop, perhaps becoming warm to end the period.

The start of the period looks set to remain generally unsettled, with occasionally strong winds and showers or longer periods of rain affecting much of the UK. Temperatures also looks set to remain below average and it is likely to feel rather chilly in windier or wetter conditions. However there is an indication that towards the final week of July, more settled conditions could spread across southwestern parts of the UK, with more in the way of sunny spells and temperatures recovering somewhat, perhaps becoming warm in any extended spells of sunshine. The start of the period looks set to remain generally unsettled, with showers or longer periods of rain affecting much of the UK. Brisk winds will accompany this unsettled weather, strongest in the north and east, with a rather cool feel at times countrywide when combined with the expected below-average temperatures. UK Outlook for Friday 22 Jul 2011 to Sunday 31 Jul 2011:

The start of the period is likely to remain generally unsettled and cool though with some sunshine, especially in the west. Periods of rain will increasingly affect northeastern parts this coming weekend along with brisk winds, strongest in the north and east. Into next week, conditions are expected to become less unsettled, with greater amounts of sunshine, but still a risk of further rain across the east at first and over western and northwestern areas later. With more sunshine, temperatures should recover somewhat, at least to around average values, and perhaps becoming quite warm at times. Towards the end of July, the most unsettled conditions look likely across the north and west, with the driest and warmest weather across eastern, southern and central parts of the UK.

A largely fine and dry start to the period for much of the UK, conditions warm for many and locally very warm in some southern, eastern and central parts Wednesday. However, some northern and western areas will see more in the way of cloud, with rain or drizzle possible, and this will slowly spread east during the last days of July, allowing temperatures to return to near normal. Temperatures then generally near normal, locally warm at times in eastern and southern parts of the UK.

UK Outlook for Sunday 31 Jul 2011 to Tuesday 9 Aug 2011:

Sunday, mostly dry towards the southeast of the UK, but cloud and rain from the northwest will spread across the UK for Monday, weakening as it does so. An unsettled theme thereafter with England and Wales mostly affected with spells of rain or showers, often heavy, but perhaps Scotland and Northern Ireland becoming somewhat drier and brighter for a while. Temperatures should be generally near normal or just below towards the north, and above normal towards the south. Towards the end of the week and for the remainder of the period, spells of rain or showers affect all parts of the UK at times with drier and brighter interludes in between. However, there may be signs of some more settled weather into southern areas towards the end of the period.

UK Outlook for Monday 1 Aug 2011 to Wednesday 10 Aug 2011:

Monday will probably be mostly dry, warm and bright across much of England and Wales, but with more cloud and some rain towards Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some places may become very warm. For the rest of the week, it will generally become more unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain. The rain may be heavy and thundery in places, especially in the south, but it should remain quite warm with some drier spells giving sunshine in places, especially in the northwest of the UK. Into the following week, it may become drier for a day or two before the unsettled weather resumes, especially towards the northwest, with perhaps the drier weather hanging on in the south for a time. By this stage temperatures should return to near-normal.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 2 Aug 2011 to Thursday 11 Aug 2011:

Northern and western parts of the UK will remain changeable and often fairly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain, conditions here also tending to turn windier at times later. Some drier and brighter interludes between bouts of unsettled weather, maximum temperatures here often close to average. Meanwhile, southern, eastern and central regions are expected to be largely fine and quite settled at first, maximum temperatures warm or very warm, perhaps even locally hot. Here, locally heavy showers, some perhaps thundery, may break out at times during the middle of next week, conditions here then turning rather more changeable late next week. Daytime temperatures should then also return to values nearer normal for the time of year, though it will still feel pleasant during brighter interludes.

UK Outlook for Thursday 4 Aug 2011 to Saturday 13 Aug 2011:

Many areas are likely to feel muggy at first, particularly in any brighter spells in the east. However, outbreaks of heavy, potentially thundery, rain will usher in fresher weather, already in to the far west, across all parts by Friday. Thereafter, westerly winds return bringing changeable conditions with sunshine for all, particularly in southern and eastern areas; but also some showers or longer spells of rain from time to time, as usual, these more especially in the north and west; where it could be windy at times. Temperatures after starting off warm in many areas, will probably be not far from average during the rest of the period, and this of course does not preclude the chance of some pleasantly warm days, again especially in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Sunday 7 Aug 2011 to Tuesday 16 Aug 2011:

It will stay generally unsettled during Sunday and into the new working week, with showers merging into longer spells of rain at times and a few drier interludes. This rain should be mostly confined to eastern parts of the UK on Tuesday (9th) with drier and brighter conditions for a time in the west. Dry for most on Wednesday before spells of rain return to northwestern areas of the country later and into Thursday. Thereafter, the best of the dry weather is expected to be across southeast England but with time, the unsettled conditions will spread from the northwest to affect much of the UK. Temperatures are expected to be a little below normal for most, perhaps recovering to nearer average by mid-August.
