What an amazing Supercell this was.

Indeed the Sac/Pocahontas cell was very impressive. Several cycles with tight couplets often on close proximity.

Chasing this sort of beast at night though takes a certain degree of insanity.

The lid is still in place by the looks of things but that looks like collapsing by 21Z or perhaps earlier.

Could be a couple of very fast moving long-cycle tornados today with the Madison, WI area in the firing line.

1ST Echoes now starting to appear on radar and chasers on the move to intercept the early radar returns. Best one at the moment right on the border of MN/WI South East of Minneapolis St Paul!

Love PDS Tornado Watch Boxes, they bring excitement to the car Lol

From my starting position in Tomah am well on my way up the fast Interstate towards Eu Claire by now and pulling up at the interception where that Storm is headed in about 20 minutes.

Yep Twice in Fact

23rd May 2008 in Kansas, Wedge and Satelite near Dighton

19th May 2010 in Oklahoma, Wedge and Stovepipe near Paul's Valley

This is very similar to the Ellis Tornado we shot on the night of the 23rd May with the Power Flashes but minus the 2 Tornadoes at the same time.

Paul S

That sounds awesome. A night time twister must be proper spooky to see, especially with powerflashes and lightning. I remember last year on a couple of Storms we chased after dark i got slightly nervous at running into a twister.

Nice cell just popped up north of Waterloo, Iowa. Could be one to watch maybe?

Edit - The Waterloo cell is firing up now, and another one to the north as well.

Michael Stanga right in on the action early yet again. His is getting towards the base of the cell East of MSP Now. Might be an idea to keep an eye on this Stream.

Mr Menzies Running North towards La Crosse on Chasertv

Edit: He is now stopped for Donuts Pmsl

Lol Thought they were, was watching them clear counties in 3 radar scans - Pretty insane and add to that these are pretty much HP Supercells then all i can say is good luck, May 10th last year had some storms going at 80mph, once they get in front of you wave goodbye and call off the chase :wallbash:

I'm going to be on that highway East of Eau Clair heading towards Abbotford as mentioned earlier. Will watch the 2 cells just s of Eau Claire pass by, but it the cell on it's own just south near Winona which I will try to intercept - unlesss the eau claire cells become quickly tornadic ;)

As I type... the Eau Claire cell goes Tor Warned...

2 Supercells further South from Eu Claire now becoming Discrete so could really see some action from these soon. Would also be on that Eu Claire one with you Nathan, Started at Tomah and moved NW About 1 1/2 hours ago.

Looks like Tomah could itself be in the firing line in the next hour or so :shok:

The La Crosse cells are indeed looking good, the Eau Claire one looks very likely to drop as well, looks as though your target may well be spot on Paul

Must be Craig

Eu Claire Cell now going to collide with the Storm to it's SE, That could go one fo two ways, Reed's La Crosse Cell looking better with every radar scan and making a beeline for Tomah :o And there was me telling them all in that place they would be safe today :nea:

These Storms need to get it done soon or the 2nd leg of the tri-athalon will be swapping the SUV's for Speedboats once they hit the Lakes  :hi:
