Met Office don't seem too keen on the rain keeping up its current intensity overnight. Should be interesting to see how much of it actually reaches us here in Scarborough. If anything though the leading edge of the rain has intensified slightly over the last hour.

It's all stopped now. All we had was drizzle, one or two heavy bursts that lasted no longer than two or three minutes.

Moderate to heavy rain in Cork for the last 2 hours at least, currently 12.6C after a max of 16.1C.

Could see a 25C somewhere tomorrow. Will feel notably warm given the increased humidity...

(Compared to recent heat which has consisted of particularly dry air.)

A very different day to many a recent one, but an odd one all the same. It began with cloudy quite mild conditions in contrast to recent mornings which have dawned with brilliant blue skies and sunshine but also cold conditions. However, skies did clear around lunchtime to deliver some sunny breaks and it felt quite pleasant. Skies then darkened very slowly during the middle of the afternoon and the rain finally arrived at about 4pm light at first but becoming quite moderate early evening lasting about 4 hours. So some useful rain. It is now dry but threat of heavy showers for hereonin some could be thundery.

So for the time being its hello to the cloud, rain and showers and by to the sunshine and warmth.

Cloudy but fairly mild night with a low of 11c, currently overcast and bright, 14.3c, hoping to get some sunshine today.

A very wet start to May in Cork, already recorded 183% of Aprils total rainfall with 78.2mm so far, which is just 5.9mm of the May average.

Given that the forecast is for a mixture of heavy showers, some thundery, and longer spells of heavy rain with a risk of flooding for the next week, we could well be close to double the normal rainfall before the mid point of the month.

The opossite of the typical exam-time weather!

Nice to see Norwich continuing its form now that I'm back here- hazy sunshine and 22C at Norwich Airport with a dew point of only 5C. The area could seriously do with some rain though- it's no exaggeration to say that it looks semi-arid out there!

After a damp morning, the sun is breaking through. Very humid.

Back to dry warm sunny weather after 0.2mm down pour yesterday and some drizzle this morning. No sign of any showers as yet breaking out so a dry night coming up.

A cloudy start but brightened up towards late afternoon. Nice and warm maxing at 22.4c and now a lovely warm & humid evening currently 21c.

I do love humidity for keeping the temperatures up into the evenings! Pub garden it is!
