RASP model was the winner of the day it seems, with the Westerly component it was keen to forecast. Disheartening that TORRO has cancelled the Tornado watch for all of the previous area's, but that's just the reality of these things. Still uncertainty to come overnight with the surface trough and cold front to move through northeastwards.

Simply put, its the radio emission of a lightning strike as detected using a lightning detector

Here we go, this area is intensifying quicker than I can type, a few sferics have shown up!

Sky to the South, East and West to me look very dark indeed.

Currently 19.2c with Light rain

Lol get your ass up the hill the strike alert is giving off the occasional beep lol

For people in more northern counties, don't give up just yet! I've just zoomed out on the radar, seems to be an endless (until the radar range ends) stream of activity!

Pleantly more time for developments! drinks.gif

"A radio atmospheric signal or sferic (sometimes also spelled "spheric") is a broadband electromagnetic impulse that occurs as a result of natural atmospheric lightning discharges"

Already given up...the sight of that non-electrified moderate muck approaching me has killed off any last remaining hope I had.

Ah well...maybe next time. Good luck to everyone else though.

looks like south east will miss out according to the radar.;

There's a suprise! A few years ago we used to be storm central, recently we seem to avoid everything, especially here in NW Kent.
