I have a sneaky suspicion that the storm that hit S/Wales an hour ago is shearing NE. Looks like there's slight change to the direction. I think its more likely to hit Telford than Mid Wales border. :cc_confused:

Could be wrong , I'm far from an 'expert' compared to you guys on here.

Sky looks grey with drizzle to the South of us now.

Ainsdale Southport Merseyside - storm just arrived - lightning every minute. Now pretty much overhead. Travelling from SE.

From up here looking very black your way at present, and all other parts to SW and W from here.

Passed over to the NE now but can see more anvils to the SW. Sun out between clouds.

All blue sky and sun at the moment here, but I suspect things will change within the next hour or so.

I think the western half of Yorkshire stands a pretty good chance this evening, and also up into Tyne and Wear/Durham, as bands of thundery showers gradually work their way eastwards. I've seen this happen quite often in these cyclonic south/south-westerly regimes in the past- the showers form organised bands that keep redeveloping on their southern flanks, creating the impression of the bands drifting from west to east even though the cloud movement is SSW-NNE.

I wish there was a way to slightly zoom in on the NW radar as oppossed to magnify x87. Its like either microscopic or macroscopic lol!!! :D

Im still too far east for these storms!! :(

+casts a long fishing line over to the west's storms and reels them east+

Near Kendal at the moment. Nothing of note yet, all seems to be West and SW of here, looks like its the same for Preston as well. First band passed through with just a bit of heavy rain. Barrow/Ulverston looks to be right in the firing line shortly.

Plenty of rumbles from a shower to the west/north of me, so that won't be coming this way. Hope for a direct hit later
