The MetO have just issued a 'yellow alert' for this in which they mention ''There is a risk of flash flooding and large hail." I've never seen them mention large hail before!

Is there much of a chance for the south west and wales? Wish I was over in the south east this weekend, looks like its gunna be real nice for both heat and storms down there! I know this is the wrong place to ask, but what kind of set up would we need to favour the west for either heat or storms?

Nice to have what i've been saying about the Midlands CAPE potential only 12hours ago being into forecasting context. Just a shame it gets overlooked.

Looks like i'm going to miss out on all the action. Working down in Cornwall Monday/Tuesday and doesn't seem to be much,if any, potential there at the moment looking at the charts.

Looks like a possibility of a supercell on Tuesday morning/afternoon for Northern France or Belgium. Lifted index under -10 for some areas!!

1300 CAPE for tomorrow afternoon into the East Midlands on the latest GFS run, 56% chance of storms into the Pennines and Yorkshire Moors. SKIRON model breaking the storms further out West before exiting out across the North Sea, which is where the 56% risk i'm seeing in Buxton could be coming from (outside of the 1300 CAPE.)

Love to say yes but even my location is right on the western edge of the main risk zone. The other locations that could see storms is parts of N England on Sunday.

for my area, lifted index' was looking real sexy this time yesterday for mon/tues but now they keep getting higher and higher. Looks like this event will be a northern one.

Anyone in East Anglia (Suffolk/Norforlk) interested in a chase? Don't mind going on my own but it's always good to have some company.

Paul - that video was priceless. Couldn't stop laughing lol!

I'll be lurking at home until I see what pans out - if t looks like a doorstep scenario then I can hustle back home in case the dogs freak out, alternatively I can chuck them in the van and bring them with me (good thing it's all caged out for them )rolleyes.gif

Morning all,Last night my heart skipped a beat with the shock of seeing CAPE levels over 1000j/kg and a storm risk of 73% for my area,i was like wow maybe i might finally get something after waiting many years,On checking this morning i was thrown back into reality(no surprises there)CAPE levels now only 200j/kg-400j/kg although the storm risk has only dropped to 63%,Im debating wether or not to travel to the east coast this weekend, could be well worth the trip or a wasted one, grrr decisions decisions lol

I've never seen them issue a warning so far in advance of thunderstorms either, let alone the warning of hail!

Neither have I come to think of it, It does look potentially quite interesting for you guys over towards the east! :D just wish I could travel east to catch the action.

I hope for your sake the MetO haven't cursed this one!
