The rain could be hit hard in the South East but the wind would be strong gusts now. I'm more worried about the next day of the early morning could be worsening blowy.

I had got a torrential rain with a bit of strong gusts as usually at the moment but all the strongest winds could be more different than meteorological forecasting I ever told you before.

On the south east coast here, will be up for quite a few hours tracking this storm in case it does change course. It is a fascinating storm to follow which ever way it ends up.

Current conditions are continuous heavy rain and small gusts maybe 15mph at tops. One half of me wants this to suddenly track north and the other half of me wants it to stay over France. (sorry french people)

Nice and still and quiet in Ayrshire. Nice to be at the quiet end for a change :)

1 flake of snow south of Birmingham = 4ft of snow in Scotland.

USA troops pull out of Iraq or London may get a sleet shower whats going to get the headline no contest

That area also covers the Channel Islands and parts of NW France - these areas will have the strongest gusts along with the Western coast of France. I think the storm force 10 warning would refer to those areas.

the areas of Portand, as per the link, and Plymouth are reported to have potential storm force 10. ( quoted in the link)

Biscay has "increasing violent storm force 11 later".
