you must have something wrong with your equipment..how can it be 1C? mine is continuously going down along with the dp, therefore yours has to be too, or close to mine. Tomorrow you need to check it out, there is no way your temps is that crappy compared to mine.

Roof is reading 1.9C

Garden is reading 0.9C with 99% humidity.

2.2C now and dewpoint following suit. Ice is melting rapidly

99% humidity? its only 89% here!

my dp is -2.2C and clear as a bell outside, though it appears for now my temp as stabilized at -0.7C

Yes rain looking likely for coastal locations. Further inland sleet and snow is a possibilty but the higher dew points are a concern

lol you crack me up with your assertions that my equipment is wrong, im so sorry , but my equipment is working perfectly fine..im not on the coast he is..your over the river with possible inversion ..i am neither on the coast or having estuary temp inversion or any modification

I'll just add, although not having too much of an effect, those with a snowcover will should have an added advantage when the precipitation comes along.

Starting to wonder if the radar is wrong?

Shower 3-5 miles away and it's crystal clear still outside?

I can't be certain, but I think I heard a distant rumble of thunder - don't quote me on this, it could be a lorry but it sounded thundery.

Don't know really. I don't care any more. All I know is it's frozen outside, and is around freezing.

The humidity is what it is, although official Met Office stations around the NW support my 99% humidity outlook, with most stations reporting a similar dewpoint to temperature.

Not surprising in the least, some pretty spectacular convection sparking off

Still got the freezing fog here, all the cars are covered in a thick white film of frost already. With snow on the ground and fog in the the air, I feel sorry for anyone having to drive in this. You wouldnt see a thing I reckon.

you should go to bed and sleep..i think your seeing things that are not there or making mistakes in your readings..or something like that mate..

I mean seriously, all the way from Garston to here (minus dodgy airport readings)..is well and truly under the -2C dp's and is very much close to -1C which isnt that great of a thing..and neither is the dp that great either..only takes some warm modification later and it can end up as warm as on the coast...not to say that wont happen anyway

Perhaps, nothing major has made groundfall in terms of rain/hail etc yet, although the big shower went into North Wales, that might be where the thunder ocurred.

Right I'm heading to bed, if I get snow/hail/thunder/torandoes/flying cattle I'll be back on to tell you about it.

My station is in a naff location I've said this.

I've always thought the humidity was correct though.

0.5C now..

Probably.

Got a nice view here watching light cloud pass over the moon. :)

Clear again now though.

oh and BT is this the same outfit who are recording temps at Hawarden at 4C and Liverpool at 4C...sorry but they are way off the real numbers.

Garston is very similar to here at pretty much -1C...and yet 2 miles up the road from there its 4C then a further 2 miles east its back to -1C, even crosby reached into the negative numbers...-0.2C or something and yet this same met office said 4C in a similar location in crosby?

If they can get these numbers wrong, whose to say there are other technical problems they are experience, though i find this odd myself. Hawarden may have been right, the airport too, since temps can vary greatly on the mersey.

Right now as i said before its very easy for the temperature to rise quite quickly and for it to drop like a brick

Current temp +0.6C was -0.7 20 mins ago

Dew Point -0.3 was -2.2C

Humidity 92% rising

Wind Direction: WSW

this is the reason for the apparent quick rise in temps and humidity

I'm sure I heard a rumble of thunder a few minutes ago. Now moderate hail/graupel.

Does it really matter?! Surely what falls from the sky is the most important thing, rather than all this conjecture and discourse about who's sensor is more likely to be accurate?

All I know is I live in a very secluded area, surrounded by boring concrete and everyone has their heating on.

Everywhere frozen and a hard frost, so probably below 0C here too.
