Heres the general drag or direction of the ppn according to that radar....

Wether we keep condusive conditions for it to be snow is another question, but the 850's temps, dew points etc look okay until late this afternoon so lets hope the ppn keeps coming in our direction mate :)

Can see the settled snow much better now.. not a lot but best so far http://www.blogtv.com/People/snowmad79

I remember Lancashire Lass posting a NMM preciptation prediction chart yesterday for 6am today and it had a blob of snow in the general area that the area of snow has tracked.

By the way

Still looks fairly decent for some of the NW for Friday. The GFS has an area of precipitation filtering down from the North West. Could be interesting, especially as it's set to arrive at around 9am. Temperatures will be at their coldest, and the dewpoints & uppers should be fairly low.

So especially if you live on high ground, it could be quite an event.

And Ian Brown's reply to this

"Should be mainly rain, the Irish Sea is anomalously warm and local forecasters have revised maxima for Stoke and Crewe for tomorrow and Saturday to 6C".

Not that I'm rubbing it in.........

Snow has stopped here and a covering on all surfaces. First snow cover of the season here.

Just looked at the radar and I'm hoping that your snow will make it this far, it's heading in the right direction at the moment.

Yes and they should drop off a tad more before it warms up later in the day (if it does). Higher ground always have the upper hand in these conditions anyway.

There is a clump of preciptation in the Irish Sea at the moment. I'm not sure how long it will last as snow at low levels for the rest of the day, I suspect any showers will turn less wintry at lower levels during daylight hours but we'll have to see but at least some low levels in the Liverpool-Manchester corridor have seen their first snow of the season.
