Eastbourne has missed pretty much everything so far, even Hastings got the rain - we just had bright sunshine!

I have gone to heathrow to chase to combine my hobbies of weather and planes, I think cells should start hitting here at around 5:15 anyone have any ideas it looks very convective already

Looks to be a bit of a beast around the Worksop area, east of Sheffield. Unfortunately nothing but moderate rain around me. i am debating driving east towards East Yorkshire although don't know whether it is worth it now.

EDIT: Its spitting out sferics too, lucky buggers lol

Surely a bit of a conflict there with all that rumbling from planes taking off though?

Disappointingly all heavy thundery showers have so far avoided SE25, so bar a few drops of rain it's been dry as a bone today.

I think I just heard thunder to my west. Someone on facebook just wrote about hail, thunder and lightning in south Wales too. Heres hoping.

A possible MCS cluster?Possibly so, although, that one appears to have broken up by 4pm, although, checking the same image, there may be another MCS forming over Ripon.

Ripon is where? :D

Looks to me some nice potential cells gathering strength in the afternoon sun, destination London!!

as the cells approach oxford the cells seem to be finding increased energy

Probably drinking lucozade.

Possiably as the wind may be higher there!

Thunder & lightning almost continously for the past 20 mins here. I knew we were due for something today, have had a headache for hours.

If the rain working its way SSE from North Yorkshire strengthens at all, we could have a little bit of action this evening.

Definitely have some sort of super powerful hail and thunderstorm shield over me at the moment. Every shower that has reached here today, as well as the ones from yesterday, have been nothing more than light rain affairs.

Think I might have to get the axe out and do something about this shield!

Nice gust-front 10 mins ago as a small cell passed over New Mills/Hayfield. Rain shafts completely obscuring the hills but yet again no thunder.

Wow, things are actually looking promising right now! Some hail now, although it looks more like snow strangely. A shower that's coming my way has recently had a lightning strike associated with it, so we will see.

A nice hook-echo on the 1705 radar return north of Buxton. I was looking at the cell around the same time but nothing evident seen, other than a gust-front prior.

Chased a lovely cell earlier, all recorded, uploading it too 750mb, it was a good 25 min chase. Will post the link later :)

We have Live streams now on the website, Chris Johnson is chasing a cell currently "video link may go down during low 3G coverage".

Anyone else had any good storms?

I'm just outside Selby and things seem to be dying out. I will hang around a little but not holding out much hope :(

Thunderstorm just moved in here next to edinburgh airport. Very slow moving, has taken 40mins to move in off the forth!
