Oh my gosh as if the 18z has actually gone and done it!

Only Tuesday showing as a pleasant day now, unbelievable even an average week of sunshine and isolated showers is downgrading, just watch the usual weekly washout low will end up happening Thursday - Saturday again.

been busy today and have only just seen the models, but im not surprised to see the models downgrading the average spell for next week

high pressure continues its lover affair with greenland, shame it falls out of love with it in winter time

Cloudy at the moment, although with a risk of some showers/longer spells of rain. Tad cooler than I thought, too. Yo June! Give us our Summer back. ;-)

Forescasts seem conflicting wether it will rain or not - and how much !

Any thoughts guys ?

Unbelievable, the forecast 'sunny spells' obviously havent materialised as usual, 100% cloudcover all morning.

post-2546-0-77574900-1339928955_thumb.jp

It looks like we only have tommorow and Wednesday for potential sunny spells now with yet AGAIN a washout November low appearing for Thursday and Tuesday seeing an area of cloud/drizzle move through Wales into here.

Looks like the cloud is beginning to break up a bit now with some sunshine beginning to appear. Im totally fed up of this month now - endless depressing below average temperatures, above average rain. Of course only us in the UK are suffering as usual as everywhere else and even Greenland as warmer upper temps than us. Its just laughable now. This June so far is more comparable to Summer 2007/2008 than 2010/2011 so far. :(

Still no cloud breaks here as of yet, and id take June 2007 or 2008 over this anyday haha!

June 2007 was a decent month until the 21st, we had 2 really intense thunderstorms, one on the 15th and one the 19th and everyday up to the 14th exceeded 20c apart from the 7th!

June 2008 also had a 25c on the 9th!

In comparison this month thus far has only exceeded 17c once on the 1st.

It's hard to believe this is the lightest week of the year and nights will be drawing in again this time next week laugh.png

These 'Thursday - Saturday'/Bank Holiday washout lows have often been nearby in recent years but even they used to end up further west and allow thundery plumes.

And bam it's raining again!

After the high humidity of friday and saturday back to something more pleasant today, some light showers around too, cloudy with light rain here currently, light rain isnt bad at all , very nice for long distance walking out in June much better than a blazing hot sun.

Today was sadly a day where Telford held an "Open day" to its sun shield allowing the rest of the Midlands to enjoy its horrible cloudiness before clearing more so this evening. However we did have a few brief sunny spells which is better than what Telford actually had I believe according to a post somewhere else by Conor. Nevertheless, im not interested in this sun shield of yours. Have it back.

Very sad to think that the nights will be drawing in soon, well I believe the back end of the summer will buck the trend and be hot and sunny and even very hot.

As we always have to pay for sunny weather with rain, so the cloudy and cool weather has to pay with sun.

We'll balance back out :)

as posted in the convective thread, there's some potentially thundery weather around for parts of our region whch may last until the early hours of tomorrow morning....lightning strikes have been to detected to the far east of the region as an area of showery heavy rain pushes slowly NNE wards across the region......NMM hi-res outputs has modelled this pretty accurately and progs locally torrential downpours for some parts

Didnt expect anything Thundery tonight. Hope we can see something too but we are on the edge of this so perhaps more dribs and drabs rather than anything organised but not ruling anything out.

It can't be that unbelievable, it happens near enough every day in Telford doesn't it? Lol

You have had it so easy this Summer so far. Your joy will be short lived....

...if the weather decided to actually bring Summer not a continuous autumn all the time.

Quite cloudy until early afternoon here but still much better than Telford with a fairly pleasant afternoon. Not all that warm though. 17c in Spring feels great as its much warmer than the sub 10c experienced over much of the winter etc but by this time of year it begins to feel rather cool imo.

A light shower here at the moment, turned chilly fast again this evening, already down to 13.1c.

Met Office Forecast today: A little warmer again for most, with some good sunny spells and a few showers developing, with the odd one perhaps turning heavy by the afternoon. Light winds throughout. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Reality: Slate grey skies and 15c!

post-2546-0-96995300-1340104636_thumb.jp

This now leaves us with just tommorow for breaching 19c this month and seeing some proper sunshine, yet again Thursday-Friday is looking a washout now with further areas of rain over the weekend into next week!

It does seem very possible 20c won't be breached here this month now and were end up with less than 50 hours sunshine!

Wow, much sunnier here and much more blue sky! Just give up Conor. Telford will never see Sun again. laugh.png

Finally feels decently warm too.

Also, the Met Office are very keen on the idea of Thunderstorms in the SW on Wednesday night perhaps pushing North into the Midlands. :D

 I am actually cursed! if you look on Sat 24 you can actually see a thin trail of cloud over Telford which has just thickened up and now thats about to clear the cloud from the showers in Wales ihas joined up to it to ensure it's cloudy until at least 5pm now!

Shawbury not a million miles from Telford was the sunniest place in the West Midlands yesterday with almost 9 hours.

Makes the the decision to 'stay up' or 'get up' for summer solstice a little easier
