I was referring to coventry not Buxton.

Buxton is a much colder wetter place where there was 4 inches snow in June 1975 which stopped the cricket!

True. The reasonably short journey from south Derbyshire, nevermind Coventry, to the Peak District almost always entails the weather becoming three times as vile.

My local weather station (http://www.monkspathweather.org.uk) is stating that 34mm has fallen so far today. That seems a bit on the high side, although in fairness it has been coming down pretty much all day.

I had to turn on the electric heater a couple of hours ago, it was so chilly - astonishing contrast to a week ago.

Today has been a superb day.

Cold and wet...with a maximum temperature of 9c!

A superb impersonation of a November day that is! Ugh! The "great" British summer at its worst!doh.gifmad.gif

All that was missing was the strong to gale force winds, and the air filled with autumn leaves being torn from the trees.

Wet all day here too with a max 10C. Started last night. Very misty and foggy, with a cold-feeling wind. Had to light the fire, nice and cosy now, but dogs smelly after wet walk!

Utter atrocious outlook, these charts really sum up exactly how it's the same rubbish different year, in fact they are all so similar to the day pretty much with a big area of low pressure slap bang over us.

There are signals for a pressure build towards the equinox but that means we still have two more weeks of grot to get through before then.

By that time, the nights will then start to draw in, and peeps will start looking at FI charts for winter synoptics! w00t.gif

im best off taking a break from this forum, the weather is as bad as it gets for the foreseeable, so i don't want to be reading gloom and doom posts about it, plus WUM merchants telling us how bad it is, like Eugene and PE, also my crops are doing very badly this year and if this carries on i won't be getting much.

A couple of very sharp showers so far today, but nothing thundery as yet. Another very dark cloud is approaching from the south-west, judging by the radar a deluge might be imminent.
