In the space of about 5 minutes', all the interesting clouds have buggered off!

Seems to be creeping towards Crewkerne, but no sign of lightning...yet. I'll keep watch!

I am a moaning ole git (probably due to being storm depraved) but why do some members only have their county as their location? sorry.gif It especially comes in handy when watching and tracking Thunderstorms activity and those elusive snow shower days etc. Rather than name names, can we all provide a bit more detail to our profiles.

As for moi, I'm keepin my eyes peeled on the Brest region of France, in the hope that something can brew from that particular disturbance. good.gif Will it interact with the decaying Front (as shown by the attached Midnight chart) slowly transferring Eastwards in time for a night-time event? I somehow doubt it, but stranger things have happened.

Was very unlucky. I was waiting in Grantham and then a storm exploded just to the NE of me between Lincoln and Sleaford. I have tried to chase it but it was just too fast moving as Paul said. All the sferics have now died though and not hearing anything on AM radio either. There were some huge raindrops but that is about the most I got other than some distant rumbles.

Not good for a day I had such high hopes for :(

I can see your darkness, tornadomanuk! It's extending towards Yeovil, but seems to be moving more north than east.

I don't think its over yet but I am just feeling disappointed so far as not really seen anything. I tend to get desperate this time of year because I feel the season is coming to a close.

Yes, there's a convergence area across S Somerset, so shower development may still have time to build in that zone from Crewkerne across towards Yeovil.

some dark skies to my south and south west, also had a very light shower here. Im thinking these might get heavy and more thundery as they move north.

the evening can sometimes be good time for new convection, but the mid-level showery line coming out of france is already headed too far east to import to the UK, so i would say that further storms are unlikely today acute.gif

A VERY FRUSTRATING DAY ,THICK FOGY MIST ,THEN A POSSIBLE BIT OF RAIN ACTION , that ran away north from my shield ,then a possibility of a shower that veered off , those of you further east must also be frustrated at fun over channel, although some of you got lucky . watching the sky to my far s/west just hoping for a bit of action . perhaps something later in the night if synoptics pan out drinks.gif

Gone very dark here in the last 15 minutes, but no rain and no thundery signs either.

PS: Just tweeted mapped modelling of that S Somerset convergence zone, if you're interested....

Are you expecting anything to come of this Ian?

Feels much fresher now in Bristol, gentle breeze taking the edge of the temp.

Not much cloud around either.

Near Sherborne.

Sun's shining again now, but there's still grey cloud around to the west.
