It has been a really great day in NW1. It was really hot in Regents Park at lunchtime.

Certainly a different day to yesterday.

Yesterday morning was very warm in Chelmsford until lunchtime when it began to cloud over. One of my sons was visiting his girlfriend in Huntingdon and he said that it was dull and drizzly when he spoke to my wife on the phone mid morning. In the afternoon it was mostly coudy and about 18.30 it began to rain lightly. I drove up to Huntingdon to pick my son uo at about 7pm and it continued to drizzle until I got to about Dunmow when the sun came out to end the day on a decent note.

The cloud band mst have been very narrow as there did not appear to be much wind to help it on it's way.

Kind regards

Dave

i see very wet from the 11th

not cold though

i think the jet could go north from 18th onwards again for about a week

however i think this could give us warm but very wet conditions

these are just my thoughts againsmile.png

A brighter start to the day in Sussex with some low lying fog burning off in the morning sunshine. Expected to cloud over again later though, but a potential good weekend may be in store?

Warm Weather On The Way

The remainder of the week looks set fair with warm sunny spells for many across southern and eastern Britain and Ireland. North-western areas will tend to be cloudier with some rain at times. The fine weather across the south and east looks set to linger into the weekend too and temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-20s C (high-70s F).

Might this make up for the August BH weekend then?

Would be nice but too little too late for some people, it's not the same when you get to September but a nice dry crisp autumn and a cold snowy winter could make up for a rotten summer !

The Indian summer is here! Britain basks in glorious 25C temperatures as thousands flock to the beach

The last few days of the summer holidays finally brought the glorious weather the country had hoped for and thousands along the south coast made the most of it.

And the good news continues, with experts predicting that the sun will last all week and into the weekend - with top temperatures pushing 25 degrees. In Bournemouth, Dorset, there were plenty of sun-seekers lapping up the last of the holiday’s rays while those in Dyce, Aberdeenshire enjoyed top temperatures of 25.2 degrees.

A Met office spokesman said: ‘For the rest of the week the country will be sitting under a high pressure which will bring prolonged sunny spells. ‘Temperatures in some places will reach 25 degrees and possibly on the coast it will be a bit cooler. ‘Today is generally fine with light winds and tomorrow morning there could be a bit of fog and mist to start with. ‘There is a band of rain over Scotland and that will push its way down, but it is a weakening band of rain. ‘But we are still in the grip of a high pressure and will be through Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and even Sunday. It looks like a good week ahead with most temperatures in the low 20s.’

Morning all.

A pleasant start to the day here, as it's mostly sunny.

Interestingly, I saw a few castellanus clouds on the drive in to work. I guess if it was a little warmer and more humid, then scattered thunderstorms would have likely followed later today.

It actually is quite wonderful out there really. 30DgC in the office is a little uncomfortable, so frequent walks to the main entrance and car park are welcome

I'm nearly back in MK it's looking very dull and boring !

Yeah, the crystal clear blue skies have been interrupted by that damn cold front sliding down the country, at least it's out the way tomorrow.
