Ok i will await it with bated breath, but i have to say its not looking very likely, for me at least cant belive how still it is out there. looks like it will be east part of devon that will get most of the storm, before it heads further north.

The beeb with John Hammond I believe mentioning earlier that cloud tops expected to be 5-7 MILES in height (31,700ft .est) in association with the low.

OK, question from the uneducated here.

After watching the V6 radar for several hours now, I was watching the upper bands approach my area. However, what was showing underneath these initial bands has now seemingly caught up and it all seems to be grouping together.

After reading earlier in the thread that this thing may well arrive and not go anywhere fast, is that what is happening here, some kind of compression effect where the movement is stalling and the other end starts to catch up?

check your radar - reds and whites virtually on top of you - no sign of electrical activity just yet but it does seem to be building!

That would make it quite dark under those if you got oneclapping.gif

last time that happened to me was late 80's, a super storm hit on a June afternoon and day really did turn to night.

Yeah that would sound about right, they where hitting 30000-34000ft earlier.
