I see the met office have removed the warnings for Fri+Sat, looking at the GFS run it does not any different from Yesterday though.

Maybe they are going to re-issue......

The cloud heights of our frontal system tonight are rising which would be indicative of it getting stronger, this would mean heavier rainfall. Systems being fed from the tropics are notoriously hard to forecast, the precip amounts on models may be underplaying the totals.

Are there any sat images which measure the cloud height and coolness ?

Yes indeed, according to the nw forecast (based on GFS 6z, I think) my location is expected to receive 60mm up until and including next Tuesday. There will of course, be drier interludes but the trend is set and a trough like feature will be remain near for quite some time.

What is the look out for EA-Ipswich area? We were issued a warning but don't know if we're in line for heavy rain. :)

The warnings were continuously pushed back westwards so now no one in the south-east are under a warning, needless to say there's plenty of rain around tonigh. You will get a lot of rain tonight but the second rainband looks to mostly effecting anyone Cambridge southwards.

The outlook for any city, town, rural idyll and lest not forget, even Essex, can be viewed via the link below.

I typed in Ipswich and it came up with 55mm between now and the end of Monday. good.gif

Please bear in mind, these change like the weather as they are updated from differing model runs.

My area is giving me 73mm according to Netweather. If that came about we would see our highest amount of rainfall in 3 days for many many years blink.png

Lucky then that my team ain't got a game saturday.

Got absolutely soaked yesterday evening, just as training started. Absolutely torrential rain, and funnily enough, lasted for the entire session, then decided to stop when we started packing up.

A friend of mine has just been given a bonsai tree - care instructions recommend rainwater as oppose to tap water...

Something to watch overnight into morning is not just the rainfall, but the winds.

40-50mph gusts generally with as high as 60-70mph on the south coasts.(early hours and morning)
