Bloody hell Catch, hadn't noticed that you'd moved ! Kelso must be a better bet for snow in the winter ?...

He keeps moving closer to me. Starting to feel slightly concerned.

Put a lock on the picnic bench just in case.

-2.7 C (rising), DP -4.0 C

The heavier part of the band is just coming onshore so the traffic cams might start to look a bit more interesting shortly. Although the band is moving at 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001 mph!

Dew point -1C in Glasgow so looks fine for snow. Big risk for the rest of us is that the front fragments and we end up with hours of light precipitation which pushes the temperature and dew point up above 0C. If we get the heavy stuff through in good time then we should be fine for the first hour or two at least.

Ross, that's a very very good sign if you fall under the categories forecast to be hit and are of course a snow lover :)

And it is now raining :(

Front is looking pretty solid at the moment, even intensifying slightly. Hopefully it won't fragment too much before it reaches us.

snawing here for the past hour or so and starting to lie temputure at -1.1c. a shame its to turn back to rain later tonight here but for everyone on the east coast you may be lucky and not turn to rain
