2.9c/1.4c/SW. Beautiful crystal clear evening with a huge full moon. Not expecting any snow over here in the east, but lovely to smell winter again.smile.png

Plenty snaw potential on the latest hi-res view. Those further east may a have a good shot as temps still dropping there. Slight rise to the west as the front arrives, could lower temps as it goes through.

2.8c/1.1c Happy with DPs just need temps to drop a bit more. That first line of showers over the Stirling area now appears to be marching quite steadily east. Just hope it doesn't get caught up behind Fife's surrounding hills. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=radar;sess=

Temp slightly went up in the past hour now 3.6/0.4, crazy wind & rain/sleet now. I take this is to be expected as the front moves in ?

Not sure, but never seen this much detail, and it's linking from the Cams.

Quite a few of the road signs from Stirling North and East stating Snaw Forecast. (All road signs in Perth EDO good.gif )

LOL I can confirm the sign at the Luncarty turn off says snaw but as we are the gateway to the highlands via drumochter it tends to be the default message when below 4c.....still always like reading it :)

Hope u got yer phone for any snaw reports....neighbours need to u understand yer priorities :)

Horizontal rain here now and feeling decidedly chilly at 3c

'MON THE BLOBS !!!

post-7292-0-96046500-1356813937_thumb.pn

Incoming !!!

Edit to add couple of images..

This from Eumetsat - Eumetrain, shows the cold airmass in red delivering the temp drop and creating oor Blobs, these lows really pulling the arctic air into a wrap.

Overnight a nice pool of cold air smack bang over us.

Hopefully some hefty showers in there for everyone.

Clouded over here recently but still mild [relatively] at 4.2C. Certainly did not feel mild at the footie in Perth this afternoon. My feet have just warmed up.

Well, someone had to say so I may as well do. Have we polar low characteristics within the low diving down from Iceland and about to follow the stream of snaw BLOBS? While it's not in true polar air, it's actually being fed by Arctic influence with a north flow.

how about Aviemore doc? there seems for the last week when snaw coming the hills to the west act like a shield. Maybe something nice tonight though?

Could well be, might be a bit iffy at times but looking at the radar you should see something from that band.
