I expect Steve B's amount so far this month is down to downpours along the Bristol Channel area Saturday night / yesterday.

Correct Andy, plenty of showers yesterday, coupled with the rainfall today.

I would say we are a fairly wet area, on the Bristol Channel & at the mercy of the westerly lows rolling in from the atlantic.

With almost 40mm here today we're already on to beating most of those figures by the 6th!

Noah will be gathering animals two by two if it keeps this up. Still, weather in all its veriety is so interesting.

Although, I don't like thaught of Mr Data's 192.9mm Aug 1912 record, as our curent 160.3mm Jun 2012 record is bad enough with its disruption.

I was just going through some of my weather archives.

I got to the 500mm total on December 15th last year.

This year, i've exceeded 550mm within 7 months.
