Looks like we will pass Junes average rainfall today the question being by how much.

Over 100mm now, the earliest date for 100mm to be achived in any month since September 2008 which managed it by the 7th.

On this day last year I recorded 37.5mm as part of June's 134mm. With 91mm already and a potentially very wet few days later

this week I wonder if last year's total will be beaten around mid month!

Jan = 54mm

Feb = 16.5mm

March = 25.5mm

April = 143mm

May = 73mm

June = 91mm so far

Total = 403mm

It looks certain for many places records will be broken for the wettest ever June, with more torrents of rain forecast for the next week or so. Currently at 130mm here and there looks a good chance we'll break 200mm again in what is the direst month of the year here with ~90mm.

April-June rainfall here currently: 430mm.

The June total here now stands at 140.6 mm which is 369% of the average for the first 14 days of the month- very impressive.

If it can keep it up until the end of the month the 2007 record would be under threat.

Equally impressive is the lack of sunshine. Just over 16 hours so far this month which is 21% of the average for the first two weeks in June. I've not recorded anything to approach that in summer in 50 years of records.

My Davis reckons 115.8mm here. Plenty of time to add more.

I would have thought that is very wet so far as that looks more typical of a whole month's total than the midpoint.

Well we're quite dry compared to many other areas of England and Wales..
