18 mm required to get this month into the top twenty wettest months of all.

Wettest April to June periods on record for England and Wales since 1766 (mm)

1782 336.7

1830 324.4

1797 313.1

1843 305.2

2012 302.4 (up to 15th June)

96mm in the first half of June, which is remarkable and must be one of the wettest first half to Junes on record. The bulk of the rain that fell during June 2007 fell during the second half.

272.4mm for the year to date. Which is 6mm short of the total for the first 6 months of 2010 and 20mm short of the 61-90 Jan-Jun average for Stratford. So all in all, pretty much normal.

150mm so far June a remarkable amount, especially for a summer month here.

We've only seen 43.8mm so far this month. We've missed out on a lot of the shower activity and fronts have weakened as they've reached us.

Wettest April to June periods on record for England and Wales since 1766 (mm)

1782 336.7

1830 324.4

1797 313.1

2012 309.4 (up to 17th June)

Id say its very likely that 1782 figure will be beaten after the weekend. After the frontal rain pushes north from this upcoming low on Thursday, there will be some quite heavy showers in the CET zone during the day which could deposit some hefty totals. Sunday then sees another southerly tracking low which could finish the job.

The total here up to 0800 g.m.t today is 156.7mm, which makes it the 5th wettest June on record.

The next one to catch is1987 with 162.8 mm and, above that, 1998 with 164.5 mm. Still a very long way to go to match 2007 with 219.4mm.

140.6mm here in North London. Just 4mm short of being the wettest month ever since I began collecting data in 2004. Also had our highest 24 hour rainfall total with 40.6mm on 11th June.

The total for this month is now at 265mm which is nearly 3 times the average of ~90mm (the driest month of the year along with July). Good chance we'll get to 300mm by the end of the month which for June is crazy. The wettest June ever here probably.

Total from Apr-Jun is 565mm.

Total for year so far is 855mm.

193mm so far, wetter than 2007 (186mm) and quite likely the wettest on record locally in June.

110mm at Rugby to date (151mm at Coventry 2007).

EDIT: Just looking at old COL bulletins, Carmarthen had 213mm in June 1982, although that was a notably thundery month with great local variation, Swansea only receiving 106mm for example.

Up to 140mm this month so far. Needs to pass 149mm to to become the third wettest we've recorded. After that the next target would be 229mm which we won't reach. The record of course is 2007 when 254.9mm fell.
