How far above average is this?! You're in the wetter south-west, but I would have thought this would be one of the drier parts and surely have an average annual rainfall of 700-1000mm or so? Is this an exceptional year or is your area far wetter than I thought?

Rainfall here in November is still below average for this stage of the month. 65.6 mm recorded so far which is 82% of the 35 year average for the first 23 days.

Yesterday's rain took the annual total to 1108.9 mm wich is 119% of the average at this stage of the year. It would take a very wet December to make 2012 the wettest year on record, currently the record is 1376.9 mm in 2000.

What a difference five days makes. We're now on 88.3mm and 115% of normal rainfall. Another 11.7mm to make it five months in the year reaching 100mm of more which last happened in 2000. A new wettest year record is looking pretty well odds on now.

Not really wet here, two months with totals above 100mm, September came close, but other than that, nothing unusual. Slightly above average year so far, but nothing compared to 2007 (more than 1000mm) or 2008.

So far 3 months of the year have had above 100mm of rain here, they were April, June and July. This month is now on 78.7mm so it could make it 4 with more rain forecast for tonight.

Interesting map of rain totals over past 7 days, wettest places in SW England, S Wales and Lake District with as much as 150mm or more in a few places.

Recorded 140mm here which fits well, November total up to 225mm now vs 195mm average.

1,740mm here now this year.

260mm more to break the 2,000mm barrier, looks well possible.

(December is the wettest month here)

My 108mm fits in very well with that too for those 7 days.

Have a feeling December will be below average though.

Over 125mm this month, and now just over 1,100 mm for the year, that's already double the rainfall for 2011!

November has totalled 159mm which is the 2nd wettest November I have recorded, the highest was in 2009.

118.5mm of the month's total came between the 19th-26th with a further 22.5mm on the 3rd/4th, so the remaining 21 days only

had 19mm!

Jan = 54mm

Feb = 16.5mm

March = 25.5mm

April = 143mm

May = 73mm

June = 155.5mm

July = 136mm

Aug = 113.5mm

Sept = 49mm

Oct = 121.5mm

Nov = 159mm so far

Total = 1046.5mm

November the wettest month of the year so far (I hope it remains so and December is drier), and also the 6th month to have 100mm+ rainfall which is staggering.

January: 56.2mm

February: 14.0mm

March: 17.7mm

April 128.4mm

May: 40.6mm

June: 112.5mm

July: 129.2mm

August: 106.8mm

September: 51.5mm

October: 105.4mm

November: 150.7mm

2012 so far: 913.0mm (which, unsurprisingly, is well above the yearly average, with December still to go).

November finished with 116.2mm bring the year to 1062.6mm leaving 3.3mm to claim a new record. Rain overnight Sunday should do the job. Question is how far will the record get broken by.
